Watch: Princess Anne Hospitalized Following An Incident At Her Estate

Princess Anne is on the mend after a scary incident.

The younger sister of King Charles III sustained minor injuries during an incident at her estate Gatcombe Park, Buckingham Palace has announced.

"Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery," the June 24 statement, shared to X, read. "The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."

The exact cause of the 73-year-old's minor injuries and concussion remains unconfirmed. According to Sky News, Anne's doctors have recommended she postpone her royal duties this week, which includes a trip to Canada. She is also unable to attend the June 25 banquet in honor of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, who is visiting the UK, the outlet added.

The incident comes days after the Princess Royal attended the Trooping the Colour on horseback alongside Prince William and Prince Edward. She also participated in other royal events in similar fashion, including her older brother's coronation in May 2023.

But it's also no surprise that Anne is often seen alongside horses since her equestrian career goes back decades. She even competed in a three-day equestrian event at the 1976 Olympics.

"I thought if I was going to do anything outside of the royal family, horses was likely to be the best way of doing it," she told Vanity Fair of her career in 2020. "But then you have to find the right horse at the right time. The original horse I rode was bred as a polo pony and should never have been an event horse, but it worked, so that was very satisfying."
