Communities throughout Georgia throw huge parties for Independence Day, and this year they're sure to be even bigger! From fun in the sun to food, music and fireworks, July 4 weekend will be a blast.

We asked our fans on Instagram about their favorite ways to spend the Fourth of July and received tons of responses. Here are just a few fan favorites!

Stone Mountain Park's Fantastic Fourth Celebration, July 1 – 7

Located 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park lights up the sky every night during its Fantastic Fourth Celebration with a special patriotic fireworks finale after the Music Across America Drone & Light Show. The 2024 Fantastic Fourth Celebration runs seven consecutive nights, July 1-7, with the exact same fireworks show immediately following the Music Across America Drone & Light Show. During the day, families can enjoy attractions such as Dinosaur Explore, Scenic Railroad, Summit Skyride, and more; catch live performances by Puppy Pals comedic dog show, As Seen on America’s Got Talent; explore 3,200 acres of natural and historical sights, and much more.

Join the Independence Day Celebration on July 4 in Savannah at Plant Riverside District and on River Street with live music and entertainment, kids activities, food and drink specials, and more. Don't miss the spectacular show at 9:30 p.m. when fireworks are uniquely shot off a barge in the harbor, so there is no bad view!

Lake Blue Ridge Fireworks (July 4) & Blue Ridge Fireworks Train (July 5)

Stay in Blue Ridge for the weekend, and join all the festivities from a parade and fireworks to a special train ride.

Catch the Lake Blue Ridge Fireworks on July 4 at dusk. Best places for viewing: Morganton Point Recreation Area, from a boat in Lake Blue Ridge near the Lake Blue Ridge Dam, and the Lake Blue Ridge Marina.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway will host a Firework Special Train to the spectacular Copper Basin Fireworks display on July 5. The train will depart Blue Ridge at 7 p.m. to enjoy the display just after dark and then return to Blue Ridge by 11 p.m.

Lake Chatuge Boat Parade & Fireworks

Whether you're sitting on the shoreline waving at the boats as they pass or behind the wheel of a boat sporting your best red, white, and blues, the Boat Parade on Lake Chatuge is the perfect way to start the holiday. The fireworks display on July 4 can be viewed along the lake, or grab a seat at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds and enjoy live music starting at 6:30 p.m. before the spectacle begins at 9:45 p.m.

St. Simons Island 4th of July Celebration

The Annual St. Simons Island Sunshine Festival held in the Pier Village on St. Simons has been an island tradition for more than 60 years. With a 5K and 1-mile fun run, an arts & crafts show, fireworks on the pier at 9 p.m., and more, this is the perfect family-friendly event this season.
