March Madness rages on, and baseball is approaching opening day. But the NFL is king, and there IS no real off-season, which is why audience members are lining up to watch Kevin Costner work some draft-pick magic in Ivan Reitman’s football dramedy Draft Day.
Costner plays Sonny Weaver, general manager of the beleaguered Cleveland Browns (real NFL teams are represented in this factual feature), who needs to make a major splash on draft day or he’ll lose his job. There appears to be a clear-cut number one, a stud quarterback who could put the Browns back on the football map. Only, Weaver has a few tricks up his sleeve. It’s going to be a long Draft Day!
