The post-apocalyptic movie genre naturally lends itself to the recent advances in CG technology. Often, the visual elements of these films tend to overshadow and trump the actual story the movie is trying to tell us.

We'll let you be the judge of this new trailer for After Earth starring Will Smith and his son Jaden as a father-son tandem that crash lands on Earth 1,000 years from now. It's a very different place and humanity has long vacated the planet. But that doesn't mean there aren't dangers awaiting our heroes.

Much of the latter half of this trailer features footage that we've already seen in the first trailer but one thing that remains consistent is the absence of M. Night Shyamalan's name anywhere in this trailer. Shyamalan wrote and directed the sci-fi action-adventure along with Syriana scribe Stephen Gaghan.

Take a look below and sound off with your thoughts on the film. Are you looking forward to see this movie when it arrives in theaters on June 7? Does this movie look like it's going to be a hit or another costly box office dud?
