FRIDAY THE 13TH (2009)

Arrow Video‘s September slate is – as always – a veritable feast for genre fans, featuring Japanese crime dramas, giallo thrillers and, perhaps most excitingly of all for horror fans, 2009’s Friday the 13th on 4K UHD.

Mark Nispel’s remake of the 1980 slasher classic stars Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle, and Derek Mears.

One of the more successful remakes from the 2000s horror boom, Friday the 13th racked up $92,670,237 worldwide, and follows:

Clay Miller (Padalecki) as he searches for his missing sister, Whitney (Righetti), who is captured by Jason Voorhees (Mears) while camping in woodland at Crystal Lake.

The recent Crystal Lake news means this has been a pretty bad couple of weeks of news for Friday the 13th fans, but this announcement means things are certainly looking up.

Arrow’s limited edition release will contain two cuts of the film, the Theatrical Cut (97 mins) and the extended Killer Cut (105 mins). Addition special features (full list below) include a double-sided foldout poster featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Gary Pullin, as well as a collector’s booklet with new essays and writing.
