LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A motorcyclist was killed Friday morning after colliding with a semi-truck in the southwest valley.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred on Sunset Road and Jones Boulevard around 5:40 a.m.

Details about the crash were not immediately available, but police confirmed to FOX5 that a semi-truck and motorcycle were involved. The semi-truck driver remained at the crash. The motorcyclist would be pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say impairment is not suspected in this crash, though the investigation is ongoing.

The intersection will remain closed while the investigation and cleanup is underway. Police say the closure is expected to last several hours.
