Brett and Jason Oppenheim take the term twinning to new heights. Together they’re the founders of the Southern California–based Oppenheim Group and costars of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which chronicles the lives of the real estate agents at their firm. Their penchant for suits, similarly bald heads, and same height has inspired online quizzes like, “Can You Tell the Selling Sunset Twins Apart?” And in speaking with the twins, it becomes clear that their identical nature is more than skin deep. They both collect soccer, baseball, and football cards (Brett’s most prized possession is a Pelé rookie card), they absolutely despise air conditioning (their ideal temperature is 74 degrees), and are firmly anti-ghosting (“That’s not in our DNA,” says Jason).

The only subject on which they differ is their “type.” “I’m typically more into brunettes and Jason’s more into blondes, but it’s funny right now because we’re actually with our opposite types, and we seem to be totally fine with that,” Brett tells Glamour. (Brett is currently dating model Tina Louise whereas Jason is in a relationship with his Selling Sunset costar Chrishell Stause.) “I have less of a type now than I used to,” Jason concedes.

While the Oppenheim brothers’ romantic relationships have come to dominate headlines, this season of Selling Sunset (on Netflix now) primarily focuses on the often frosty relationships between the women of the firm. (Chrishell is anxious about Davina rejoining the Oppenheim Group; the arrival of new broker Emma further fuels the bad blood between Mary and Christine.) These drama-filled plot lines have led the season to become a bona fide success—with the series currently sitting squarely in Netflix’s Top 10 in the U.S. Today queue—but Jason already has his eyes on season five. Which, according to a teaser trailer, will focus on the origins of his relationship with Chrishell. “We have some resolution on some things, and it’s less about Christine and the other women and more about other story lines,” Jason says. “There’s also even better real estate in five, so I’m looking forward to that.” Unsurprisingly, Brett agrees with his brother’s assessment. “We like the real estate more than the drama,” he adds.

Below, the Oppenheims speak to Glamour about dating other twins, their love of head scratches, and the most romantic thing Jason’s done for Chrishell in the latest installment of Inappropriate Questions.

Glamour: Has there ever been a time where being a twin has worked to your advantage in terms of dating?

Brett Oppenheim: It always helps, but it’s not a huge advantage.

Jason Oppenheim: We went out with a couple of sets of twins like 20 years ago, but dating, when we were 18, is a very loose term. I wouldn’t even call it dating.

Brett: It was probably just a couple of weeks. It becomes a bit of a spectacle; it’s not something we’re really looking for.

Who was your first celebrity crush?

Brett: Kathy Ireland from ’80s Sports Illustrated.

Jason: Mine was Jessica Simpson.

Brett: Then it was Jessica Alba. Actually, I just sold the house next door to Jessica Simpson, so maybe I can introduce my bro.

Jason: And I sold Jessica Alba a piece of land.

It all comes full-circle. What’s a dating or relationship “rule” you think is BS?

Brett: I wish women were more aggressive in asking for what they wanted. So I guess the rule that guys should always be the instigator is probably bullshit. I think all men probably wish that women were more aggressive about approaching men, not just me. Make it easier for us guys. I don’t think there are many men out there going, “I wish I wasn’t hit on so often!” I don’t think that really happens.

Fill in the blank: “I love when my partner…”

Jason: Makes me coffee. Picks up the dog’s poop.

Brett: Scratches my head.

Jason: Oh, yeah, scratches my head.

Brett: When you have a bald head it feels so good with the nails.

What’s the biggest romantic fail you’ve experienced?

Jason: I think we’re pretty successful romantically.

Brett: I’m sure if you interviewed all of our ex-girlfriends you could find something, but as far as we’re concerned we’re romantically perfect. [Laughs.]

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?

Jason: Getting Chrishell, like, 60 dozen roses for her birthday and putting them in her hotel room in Cabo. I don’t know how I came up with it; I just thought it would be cool to have it so when she walked in her room there would be thousands of roses to the point where she could barely walk. They were all different colors because I had to coordinate with local Mexican florists. It was kind of like whatever roses they had, I wiped them all out.

Brett: No other girl got a rose for a week in Mexico! Anybody who had an anniversary that week was screwed.

Jason: I was definitely told that I set the bar too high for other people. My friends weren’t happy.

How do you top that going forward?

Jason: I don’t think I will. I also had a couple of really nice Tom Ford purses on the bed, and I flew out there and took her to dinner. People didn’t know we were dating at the time so she posted it on Instagram and made it super ambiguous, as if it was just a birthday thing and she didn’t specify.

What’s the sexiest thing about yourself?

Brett: I would say humor and wit.

Jason: Thoughtfulness and honesty.

What’s the weirdest thing you do in your alone time?

Brett: Look at baseball card auctions. Both of us like football, soccer, and baseball cards. I have a Pelé rookie card.

Jason: My favorite is a pristine Walter Payton rookie card.

Do you think being baseball card collectors is one of the sexiest things about you?

Jason: It’s probably the least sexy thing. I try to show Chrishell, and she’ll just tease me like, “Look how nice those corners are!”

Brett: Neither of our girls think it’s sexy at all.

Tell me about the most interesting person to slide into your DMs.

Brett: After the show launches we get hundreds of ridiculous DMs, none of which are appropriate for any media. Ours aren’t as ridiculous as the ones the girls get. They get crazy ones from prison and all over the place.

Jason: We get everything from people asking us to buy them a car to nudity to clients. The cute ones are when husbands want me to send videos to their wives for their birthdays, which I always do.

Jason, Simu Liu famously slid into Chrishell’s DMs, which led to him appearing on the show this season. Many fans are “shipping” the two of them. What do you have to say to the Simu-shell shippers?

Jason: Oh, that does not surprise me. Chrishell gets a lot of men reaching out to her on Instagram. You know how you have a lot of folders on Instagram, and then there’s, like, a general folder? We actually sit together every couple months and we’ll go through our “general” and compare them and just laugh because we have people hitting on us.

I would imagine Chrishell’s DMs are a bit wilder than yours.

Jason: Mine are people who want to join the office. Hers are people who want to…date her.
