… or has she?

Jennifer Aniston is certainly keeping us on our toes when it comes to her hair. In recent months, we've been treated to the full gamut of shorter chops – from the sleek collarbone-length lob she debuted at the Golden Globes 2024 to the more ‘fluffy’ iteration at the People's Choice Awards and not forgetting her more recent bob with subtle layers around the face.

But just when we'd got used to Jen's new experimental bob era, it seems she may be back on familiar ground again.

Less than 24 hours ago, the actor took to Instagram to announce her return to filming the hit Apple TV+ series The Morning Show. In a carousel of pictures, she can be seen alongside her co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Tig Notaro wearing ripped jeans and a tank top.

Jen wrote, “Let @themorningshow season 4 games begin, Here we come!” in the caption, with two red heart emojis and hand claps.

The trio appear to be on the set of season four of The Morning Show, which implies this is in real time. Aside from the clear affection between the actors, what our eyes are immediately drawn to is Jennifer Aniston's new long, layered hair that cascades over her shoulders in a fresh honey hue.

It's a stark contrast to her most recent hair cut – a short, flicked, side-parted bob in a darker, sandy blonde shade that she debuted at the Emmy FYC event for the hit drama on June 2.

It's unclear whether this is an old picture Jen has posted, or if she's back embracing her California girl roots and signature beachy waves with extensions.

Perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised by this U-turn. After all, this is the woman who made a haircut so iconic it's named after her, before going on to serve up countless longer hairstyles over the years, morphing from subtle bangs and soft layers to tousled curls.

They all made it onto our mood board at some stage. That said, we've enjoyed 2024 so far and how – when the '90s came calling (again) – Jen answered with an edge-of-your-seat, dramatic, short haircut.
