For some of us, going sans bra is just not an option, which is why we thought we’d never be able to participate in the super cute tie-front top trend.
If you haven’t caught up on the style set’s new favourite micro trend, it is what it says on the tin: tops that tie together at the front, creating peekaboo pockets of skin down to your navel.
Yet, until now, it seemed impossible to be able to wear a bra with a tie-front top and still have it look cute.
Enter: Chynna Beverly Lim. The influencer who goes by @whatchynnawears on Instagram has just shared a genius hack for wearing tie-front tops with a bra.
In the video, Lim is wearing a green co-ord set consisting of a tie-front vest and a high waisted skirt. Underneath the top she is wearing a black bra that has a thin strap across the front.
Note: for this hack to work, the thinner the bra strap is across the front, the better.

Lim then demonstrates how she covers the front band of the bra using the ties on the front of the top.
Firstly, she wraps one tie underneath the centre of the bra band and wraps it once around the band so its securely in place. She does the same with the other tie, but in the opposite direction so that the bra band is now completely covered.
Finally, she knots the two ties together as you would normally, and completes the illusion.
From first glance, you can’t tell that anything is different as it looks exactly how a tie front top should, but Lim notes that by tying it this way you not only can wear a bra with the top, but you can bend over without having to hold it in place too. A win-win, in our books!
With this hack, you can guarantee that we’ll be wearing the top of the summer every day once the weather warms up (like, seriously, can the warm weather please arrive already!?).
