A Doll’s House and An Enemy of the People began as plays in languages other than English, and the Broadway adaptations were translations, while The Picture of Dorian Gray was originally a novel.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2024 at 10:15 am #1205878056You’re right. I knew that The Picture Of Dorian Gray had originally been a novel, but for some reason, I thought it had also been turned into a play. I did some research, and it looks like that’s not the case. So now, I have changed its classification to a new play.

Cole Escola is a total star and the show was very funny, but I found it all very one-note. It was slapstick from beginning to end like the Airplane or Naked Gun movies. We’ll see if the critics agree. Lately, I haven’t had the same tastes as them because I think they’re awful now, but I have the same tastes as Tony voters, which is what counts.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 10, 2024 at 10:03 am #1205881853I also wanted to say a piece of theater like that is best off-Broadway like Titanique or The Play That Goes Wrong even though it’s selling like crazy.

I think BVSC has even already had an Equity posting, but so far no news. The spring is already looking very crowded; maybe there’s an issue getting suitable houses.

Dead Outlaw is the slam dunk favorite for the Best Musical Tony and many others like Book and Score. It’s opening this season if it has to play on the streets.

1. It’s my opinion.

2. Sing Street wasn’t heavily praised and won tons of awards like Dead Outlaw. There’s no comparison.July 11, 2024 at 9:52 am #1205882611Complete casting has been announced for the upcoming revival of Once Upon a Mattress. Which includes Kara Lindsay, who will be standing by for Sutton Foster as Winnifred.

July 12, 2024 at 6:54 am #1205883334I think it will definitely be nominated for Play, Actor, Featured Actor, and a couple others. But if Primary Trust opens this season then I think that’s going to win Play and Actor.
