Experts slugfest: Anonymous Emmy ballots revealed and Phase 1 campaign winners

Emmy voting is over and now we wait. Gold Derby editors and Experts Christopher Rosen and Joyce Eng are here to share some anonymous ballots and look back at Phase 1 campaigns.

Nominations aren’t announced until July 17, but we have ballots from three voters, all of whom were eligible to vote in the program categories. Who did they vote for? Did they all fill out the max number of slots per category? What, if anything, can we glean from these? (Reminder that there are more than 24,000 members in the TV academy, so don’t take these ballots too seriously.)

Meanwhile, Chris rates his favorite thing: campaigns! Who ran the best Phase 1 campaign? Who had the most consistent talking points? (Hint: Rhymes with snacks.) How quickly did Netflix pivot to “Baby Reindeer” once it blew up? Who was he most impressed by?

Elsewhere, we discuss the possibility of a Janelle James snub in favor of Lisa Ann Walter for “Abbott Elementary” and more.
