The following article contains spoilers for The Bear season 3

If you’ve been watching The Bear season 3, then you probably fall into one of two camps. The first being: this is a masterpiece; the cinematography, the artistry! The second being: Literally, when will I get answers? Or maybe, like a lot of us, you feel some combo of the two.

Either way, plenty of the questions raised at the beginning of the season remain up in the air. We don’t know whether Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) will ever get back together, or even back in touch with Claire (Molly Gordon). We don’t know whether Syd (Ayo Edebiri) will end up jumping ship. We don’t know whether this fine-dining establishment will even stay open. We don’t know anything! Which is why it’ll come as a relief to many that The Bear season 4 has not only been green-lit, but also partially filmed.

“We did something like that,” said Allen White at a recent press conference, when asked if season 3 and 4 had been filmed back-to-back. “Yeah, a little version of it, sort of. But not exactly,” added Edebiri. Here's everything we know about the impending fourth season of everyone's favourite chef show so far:

What is The Bear season 4 about?

The long and short of it is: we don’t know. The final episode of season 3 read “To be continued…”, so we can presume that events will pick up immediately where things left off. Ultimately, though, The Bear season 4 has a lot to answer for. We need story arcs. We need forward motion. We need to know where these characters are taking themselves. The Bear's creators likely know this also, so in season 4 we can expect to know more about Syd's next moves, and hopefully a reunion between Carmy and Claire. There’s also Frank (Josh Hartnett) and Tiff's (Gillian Jacobs) wedding to get through, which will offer a chance for another tense and chaotic family get-together.

There has been some speculation that season 4 could be the final season, so we may be tying up more than a few loose ends. The Bear creator and show-runner Christopher Storer has already lined up another show for FX as a well as a crime movie that he's directing, and the cast will themselves be busy into the future (Allen White's next move is as Bruce Springsteen, while Ebon Moss-Bachrach is about to start filming The Fantastic Four, meanwhile Edebiri is one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood). But again, nothing's been confirmed.

Who will star in The Bear season 4?

Before season 3 dropped, we threw around all manner of A-lister names for the new cast. Adam Driver! Sarah Snook! Young Mazino! As it happened though, they kept things relatively the same, with a deeper narrative dive into the core cast, and a few low-key cameos thrown in for good measure.

We can be fairly certain that all the key cast will return for season 4: Allen White, Edebiri, Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Matty Matheson and Liza Colón-Zayas. Surely Jamie Lee Curtis and Gordon will return as well. Maybe Hartnett too. Other than that, nothing can be ruled out.

What’s the The Bear season 4 release date?

While they haven't yet firmed up a release date, every single prior season has been released slap-bang in June, with no longer than a year in between. So June 2025? Possibly, chef! Until then, why not read a deep dive into one of season 3’s best episodes here.
