The best-dressed men at the BAFTAs 2024 are hard-resetting the red carpet

Turns out we do high menswear just as good as Hollywood

In prior years, the best-dressed men at the BAFTAs wore the stuff we can all wear. Nice fitting suits, really solid Oxfords, and lots and lots of navy. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

But when the entire concept of celebrity hinges upon the inaccessible, elevated menswear is always welcome. Sometimes, we want the stuff that would be totally improper for a wedding. The red carpet is unlike any other event in real life. That's kinda the point. So, makes sense for fashion to get a little bit weird and take a risk.

During an age when menswear is luxuriating in the left field, it's taken a minute for the BAFTAs to catch up. But in 2024, we're finally seeing an overspill of outré on these humble shores. And frankly, the Oscars should be worried.
