It’s been a busy countdown to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, which will take place in BKC’s Jio World Convention Centre on 12 July. The celebrations kicked off in March itself, with the Ambani family hosting a three-day extravaganza in Jamnagar that witnessed a galaxy of stars, world’s top billionaires and a special performance by Rihanna. This was followed by a second pre-wedding bash, which involved a luxury cruise that set sail from Italy to the South of France from 29 May to 1 June.

With the wedding now only days away, the Ambanis — one of the richest families in Asia — have been spotted offering prayers at temples, hosting dinners with dignitaries and, in Nita Ambani’s case, travelling to Varanasi for sari-shopping. One of the latest outings witnessed Anant Ambani, Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s youngest son who is a Director on the Boards of Jio Platforms Limited, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited and Reliance New Energy Limited and Reliance New Solar Energy Limited, paying a visit to the Krishna Kali temple in Neral, Maharashtra. The groom-to-be was performing a havan ceremony, to seek blessings ahead of his nuptials, and had donned a traditional red silk kurta and embroidered jacket for the occasion.

However, it was the striking timepiece on his wrist that grabbed the eyeballs. The red carbon band of the watch made quite a statement while pairing well with his outfit of the day. Considering the Ambani scion’s penchant for collecting exclusive timepieces, it’s a small wonder that this particular item cost a staggering amount.

Anant Ambani was sporting a red carbon Richard Mille watch (RM 12-01 Tourbillon), which, according to Hindustan Times, is a limited-edition watch with only 18 pieces of this model available in the market. Going by the description on the watchmaker’s official site, the RM 12-01 was created in four different case colours, with the case, which is 39.3mm wide, 13.84mm thick, and has a 48 mm lug-to-lug distance with 50m of water resistance, being produced from Carbon or Quartz TPT. The item comes attached to a rubber strap with a titanium deployant buckle.

While Anant Ambani owns the red and black Carbon with Quartz TPT, the model comes in three more colours — black Carbon TPT, black Carbon with gold TPT, and black with white Carbon with Quartz TPT.

The Richard Mille watch (RM 12-01 Tourbillon) worn by Anant Ambani retails at an approximate price of $828,000 (Rs 6.91 crore).
