Ashley believes journalism is a vital public service, and after working in the non-profit sector for organizations fighting poverty in the Chicago area, she earned her master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School. Prior to joining THR, she was an on-air reporter for the NBC affiliate in Reno, Nevada, where she covered everything from state and local elections to education issues and human interest features.
