Bob Anderson might be hailed as an industry legend today, but there was a time when no one knew who the Olympic fencer was and what he was doing in the film industry. To begin with, as the man beneath the suit of Darth Vader on more than one occasion, the stuntman has had his fair share of franchise roles, though barely ever as the star of the show, despite his invaluable contribution to the projects.

Anderson’s practice of fencing earned him a lot of medals in multiple fencing fields for the British Empire Games. The actor also participated in the 1952 Summer Olympics, but did not win an award. However, this does not mean that the actor did not put his fencing abilities to good use.

Freddie Prinze Jr. probably knows better than the average Star Wars fan about the universe, since he starred as Kanan Jarrus on Star Wars Rebels for four seasons. Moreover, he was a fan of the show for as long as he could remember. So fans can give him leeway for his 2019 rant against some of the adult fans of George Lucas’ epic space franchise.

George Lucas directed the original Star Wars movie, released in 1977, which first introduced the concept of the Force. However, since the franchise’s inception, fans have often debated about various aspects of the mystical concept, with most sharing a common misconception regarding what balance means.

D23 didn't disappoint when it came to Star Wars news (you can watch the first Skeleton Crew trailer here) and it was The Mandalorian and Grogu that ultimately stole the show.
The first Star Wars movie to play in theaters since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker will see the Disney+ characters make the leap from streaming to the big screen for an adventure it's widely believed was originally going to season 4.
However, if this newly surfaced sneak peek (via SFFGazette.com) is anything to go by, it was a smart move on Lucasfilm's part and this leaked teaser is bound to only increase excitement. Disney must be hoping the popularity of these two will result in a guaranteed box office hit and, honestly, it's hard to fault that logic.
There's not a huge amount of new footage in this trailer as shooting only started a few weeks ago, according to Jon Favreau.

The minute Mola Ram (Amrish Puri) sunk his digits into the chest of one very unfortunate Thuggee cultist and extracted his still-beating heart for his followers -- and moviegoers all over the world -- to see, the Motion Picture Association of America (now the Motion Picture Association) finally had to admit it had a ratings problem on its hands.

Jon Watts and Christopher Ford are heading to the galaxy far, far away for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, answering the question of what would happen if Amblin Entertainment joined forces with Lucasfilm for a coming-of-age Star Wars story. Focusing on a ragtag crew of young nobodies who are thrust into an adventure across the galaxy, the cast is made up of younger characters than we’re used to in Star Wars.
Of course, our young heroes are joined by the A-list addition of Jude Law as a mysterious Jedi who looks set to give us some classic Star Wars magic. The first official trailer for Skeleton Crew debuted at D23, bringing back a forgotten Original Trilogy species, giving us plenty of ties to Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian, and teasing an adorable Ortolan who threatens to topple Max Rebo’s fan-favorite status.

Din Djarin and Baby Yoda are returning to a galaxy far, far away.
At D23 in Anaheim on Friday, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni unveiled a first look at the upcoming “Star Wars” feature, “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” starring Pedro Pascal as the titular masked bounty hunter from the Disney+ series and his adorable sidekick Grogu.
Favreau promised an “all-new adventure following these two characters.”
The D23 crowd cheered as Babu Frick popped up flying a small ship with Grogu and went wild as the purple alien said “good luck.”
The film is the first big screen spinoff from Disney+ series “The Mandalorian,” with Favreau, who created the show, set to direct the feature. The series takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” where a lone mercenary (a Mandalorian from the planet Mandalore) makes his way through the outer reaches of the lawless galaxy.

This article contains (likely) spoilers for "The Rings of Power" season 2.
Soundtracks are a big part of what brings a story to life — nowhere more than in Middle-earth. Howard Shore's award-winning score for Peter Jackson's trilogy is an iconic part of the "Lord of the Rings" experience. Bear McCreary's musical compositions for Amazon Studios' "The Rings of Power" series, while newer, are already a fantasy staple, as well. They're also a body of work that is about to get a lot bigger when season 2 arrives on August 29, 2024.
In preparation for the new music, the streaming studio released the 25 names of the songs that will be on the digital track list, which will be released for fans' listening pleasure on August 23, six days before the season premieres. With so many titles, it's no surprise that there are also some light spoilers in the mix. This isn't anything new.

In the high-octane world of action thrillers and drama, Sean Bean has acquired recognition for his commanding portrayal of villains and rugged characters in iconic roles like Boromir in The Lord of the Rings and Ned Stark in Game of Thrones. Therefore, known for his tough and resilient screen presence, one might assume that injuring Bean would be a challenge. Unless, of course, it’s Harrison Ford.

It was also criticized for mistreating the franchise’s lore and contradicting several preexisting plot points.

George Lucas’s Star Wars franchise is a staple of modern science fiction. Initially just an incredibly ambitious space opera project, it went on to become one of the most popular and prosperous franchises in history. After several decades of being a cult franchise, Star Wars has garnered the respect of numerous fans across multiple generations and remains one of the most magnificent fictional universes ever created.

The impact of Frank Herbert’s Dune upon its release, which reshaped the sci-fi landscape, can’t be overstated. While it would take another two decades before the novel saw its own big-screen adaptation, directed by David Lynch, it did contribute to making George Lucas’ Star Wars iconic.
While Star Wars is an amalgamation of many works, including Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai and Victor Fleming’s The Wizard of Oz, it’s the influence of Dune that stands out the most. But despite the similarities, Lynch was less than thrilled when asked to direct Return of the Jedi.

Before helming the first Dune adaptation in 1984, which ended up becoming one of the biggest mishaps in David Lynch‘s career, the director was initially offered to take the wheel of Star Wars.

Harrison Ford has played some of the most iconic characters in cinematic history with Indiana Jones and Han Solo. The actor imbued the characters with great charm and intensity that intrigued audiences. Ford became a household name as the lead in two big franchises and made the characters his own.

I Survived a Marathon of Zack Snyder’s Unrated ‘Rebel Moon’ — But Still Can’t Tell You Why It Exists

I’ve never seen a line for the men’s room at the American Cinématheque as long as the one that confronted me at intermission of the marathon screening of Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” this weekend. Meanwhile, there were so few women in attendance that the ladies’ room had practically no wait at all — a phenomenon that said everything about the crowd that had turned out for a big-screen look at the 373-minute director’s cut of Snyder’s two-part space opera.
To call this roided-out macro-edition of “Rebel Moon” a “director’s cut” is to willingly buy into Netflix’s egregious misrepresentation of a project that had been conceived to exist in two separate versions all along: a by-no-means-neutered and still-plenty-aggro PG-13 version, and now this, a much longer and far gorier cut, crammed with exploding-head carnage so repetitive it starts to be tiresome, along with great big gratuitous helpings of nudity,...

A cornerstone of modern science fiction, George Lucas’s Star Wars franchise stands as a highly influential and significant work. What began as an ambitious space opera has evolved into one of the most popular and profitable franchises in history. Over the decades, Star Wars has earned the admiration of fans across generations and remains one of the most impressive fictional universes ever created.
However, as previously noted, the Star Wars brand has faced its share of criticism, particularly since Disney acquired Lucasfilm. Despite the criticism, especially directed at Kathleen Kennedy, the franchise continues to achieve substantial commercial success.
This is evident from the significant plans the franchise has for the upcoming D23 fan event next week. Based on the information released so far, fans believe Disney might be hinting at a major revelation that could excite followers of The Acolyte.

The original Star Wars trilogy remains one of the most popular pieces of fictional media. The original trilogy concluded with Return of the Jedi, which saw Luke Skywalker and his friends defeat the Empire and the former redeemed his father. However, the iconic film had to operate under an entirely different title.

During an interview, the film’s production designer Jim Bloom revealed why the third installment in the trilogy underwent a title change. Bloom explained how the franchise’s popularity pose logistical issues to the final installment of the original trilogy and here why the film was produced under a different title.

A staple of modern science fiction, George Lucas’s Star Wars franchise is an incredibly important and influential work. Initially an incredibly ambitious space opera project, it went on to become one of the most popular and lucrative franchises in history. After several decades of existence, Star Wars has garnered the respect of numerous fans across multiple generations and remains one of the most magnificent fictional universes ever created.
But, as we’ve already mentioned, the Star Wars brand hasn’t been without its critics, especially since Disney bought Lucasfilm a few years ago, despite being a cornerstone of modern science fiction. Even though Kathleen Kennedy has frequently been the target of these negative remarks, the business side of the project is nevertheless tremendously successful.

Mark Hamill became a household name for playing the role of Luke Skywalker, the primary protagonist of the original Star Wars trilogy. The films saw Luke going on a journey to discover his connection to the Force while also learning about his past, particularly his mysterious parentage.

After the second installment, The Empire Strikes Back revealed a major twist regarding Luke’s father, and Hamill was left shell-shocked. As a result, the actor was left questioning whether George Lucas would pull off another similar twist with a different masked character. David Lynch is not very fond of his film adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune," feeling that it was too much a studio monster than his personal vision. After the success of "The Elephant Man" in 1980, Lynch was approached by multiple studios to handle gigantic blockbuster projects; Lynch's fans will point casual readers to an anecdote he once told about being invited by George Lucas to direct "Return of the Jedi." Learning about the franchise gave Lynch a headache, especially when he learned what a Wookiee was.
The blockbuster project Lynch accepted instead was "Dune," which he was able to make in his own preferred idiom. Even so, Lynch didn't have total creative control and felt that the whole picture was a bit of a mess. Storytelling-wise, he may be correct; a lot of information flies at the audience pretty quickly, and Frank Herbert's massively complex mythology isn't easily understood...

After playing a younger Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, actor Donald Glover was set to return as the character in a spinoff series of his own. However, last year series director Justin Simien left the project and Glover took over creative duties along with his brother Stephen Glover. It was later announced that the series would be a film.
Simien recently opened up about losing the project and how it felt after working on it for so long. He mentioned that they had gone as far as creating the show bible and that it felt terrible to lose the project after. However, fans are criticizing Simien’s analogy where he compared the project’s end to losing a child.

The Star Wars series by George Lucas is a mainstay of contemporary science fiction. An extremely ambitious space opera project at first gave rise to one of the most successful and well-liked franchises in history. Star Wars has been around for a number of decades, inspiring admiration in many generations of fans, and it continues to rank among the greatest imaginary worlds ever imagined.
Despite being a mainstay of contemporary science fiction, as we have said, the Star Wars franchise has not been without its critics, particularly after Disney acquired Lucasfilm a few years ago. Kathleen Kennedy has often been at the center of such comments but despite everything – the franchise is still doing strong.
Proof of this is the big plans that the franchise has for the upcoming D23 fan event, which is going to take place next week, based on the information we have, Lucasfilm is planning some interesting things for the fans!

George Lucas launched Star Wars, the epic space opera franchise with the 1977 original film, with several sequels, prequels, and spin-off media expanding the story. Aside from films, a major part of the franchise, especially in the era when Lucas wasn’t making new entries, was the media dubbed as the Expanded Universe.

Despite the Expanded Universe‘s popularity, Lucas himself did not consider these stories a true part of the canon. Nonetheless, Leslye Headland’s The Acolyte drew inspiration from the EU and canonized several aspects of it. As a result, it is safe to say that Headland’s series quietly gave the underrated EU the recognition it deserves.

The fact that AO3 exists is prima facie evidence that we fans can get a little carried away sometimes. That can be a problem when our headcanon escapes into the wild, taking root in the minds of normies, and before you know it, a myth is born. [This story contains spoilers for Rebel Moon.]
After nearly three decades of development, Zack Snyder’s unadulterated vision for his Rebel Moon space opera is finally at your fingertips.
Snyder had to take an awfully circuitous path to today’s two-part director’s cut release of Rebel Moon on Netflix. Inspired by Seven Samurai, Star Wars, Heavy Metal magazine and a bevy of other properties, the project that was originally known as The Five began to formulate in 1997 alongside co-writer Kurt Johnstad. Eventually, in 2012, Snyder retrofitted his idea for Star Wars and pitched it to Lucasfilm shortly after Disney acquired the beloved IP from franchise mastermind George Lucas. When that didn’t take, he then tried to sell it as a video game and movie to his DC collaborators at the time, Warners Bros. There was even a period of time where he considered making a TV series with Narcos producer Eric Newman.

In the highly competitive acting industry, success is never guaranteed due to which a lot of actors initially struggle financially. To overcome this, many actors have side-jobs or a primary source of income while auditioning for their big break.

Star Wars fame, Harrison Ford, is remembered for his iconic role as Han Solo in the series, but not a lot of fans know that he had another identity. Before becoming a recognized actor, Ford worked as a carpenter to help earn a living for his family. This financial security enabled him to pick and choose his offers at will.
When Harrison Ford almost turned down this hit movie
Before Star Wars, Harrison Ford already gained a reputation due to his movie American Graffiti (1973). This George Lucas directorial helped put the skilled actor in the limelight and gained him the necessary exposure to kickstart his acting journey.

Jude Law’s new Star Wars series has announced a Christmas release, but fans are careful not to get their hopes high. The new series, Skeleton Crew, goes back to what George Lucas had intended with Star Wars when he first created it—a joyful adventure for children. However, the disastrous outcome of The Acolyte has made many fans skeptical of the new series.

The Star Wars franchise features several fan-favorite characters but the droids R2-D2 and C-3Po hold a special place in the fanbase’s hearts. Actor Anthon Daniels played the role of the quirky humanoid protocol droid C-3Po across all three trilogies of the franchise and several spin-off media.

To the world, Carrie Fisher is synonymous with Princess Leia from Star Wars, but she was more than just one role. The late actress was also a gifted script doctor, although this may be unknown to some of her fans because most of the time, she was uncredited.

While it’s tough to picture anyone other than Jerry Stiller playing Frank Costanza, the part of George’s hot-headed dad originally went to a totally different actor, a fact that has eluded many Seinfeld fans because Larry David promptly George Lucas-ed all of the original performer’s scenes for syndication once Stiller was cast.
Frank first showed up in Season Four’s “The Handicap Spot” and was originally played by actor John Randolph, who previously appeared in classic films like Serpico and Seconds, although he’s perhaps most recognizable to modern audiences as Clark Griswold’s father in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Apparently playing the dads of unhinged man-children was kind of his thing.
While David doesn’t remember whether or not Randolph was unavailable for Season Five, or if they simply made a decision to change the actor, Stiller was hired at the suggestion of Larry Charles.

The first Star Wars film that started it all, starred The Curse of Frankenstein star Peter Cushing in the role of Grand Moff Tarkin, a name the late actor wasn’t too fond of. But it wasn’t the name of his Star Wars counterpart that irked him the most, as following his huge shoe size, Cushing wasn’t comfortably cruising in his military boots.
This pushed him to request George Lucas to resolve the issue by shooting him from the waist up, a decision that would come to haunt the creators of Rogue One.

Taylor Sheridan may be one of Hollywood’s most in-demand scriptwriters right now but Harrison Ford has been in the industry longer than Sheridan has even been alive. But that barely stopped the showrunner from casting two of Hollywood’s biggest names in a television prequel spin-off show.

Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren’s parts in 1923 could not be played by better actors, in hindsight. But during the casting process, Sheridan stunned Hollywood into silence by drawing two of the biggest names in the A-list roster. It seems, however, that the calculated move did not play out in vain.

When Harrison Ford took the stage at Saturday night’s Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con, he greeted the fans and then let loose with his mightiest roar. The crowd went nuts, but also registered more than a little surprise.
After all, Harrison Ford has disavowed any knowledge of the Red Hulk. Even after the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World featured a glimpse of the Red Hulk, the full CGI nature of the character made it at least plausible that Ford would have shot his scenes as President Thunderbolt Ross without having any idea of what happens when he gets angry.
But not only did Ford play along with the crowd by doing a Hulk roar, but footage from Brave New World showed Ross transform into Red Hulk while standing behind the presidential podium.
Strangely, the moment felt right. Not despite Ford’s utter disregard for anything nerdy,...

Harrison Ford is all set to return to the big screens with Captain America: Brave New World, and this time, his role is much different than anything fans have ever seen him as before. While he has embodied one or two bad-guy roles before, this one, which will notably mark his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will show him seeing red as Thunderbolt Ross.

But since this one’s a new theme for him to jump in, some couldn’t help but make one comparison between his character in Marvel and that of Indiana Jones in the iconic titular saga. And, hilariously enough and in true Ford manner, the only response the actor has for this comparison is “complete disdain,” as he made evident during the recently held Comic-Con 2024 panel.
