Kim Kardashian has revealed the details of a severe injury to her fingers, which had earlier caused concern among her fans when she was seen with her left hand bandaged. The incident was discussed in an episode of her show, “The Kardashians,” which aired on Hulu on July 18.
Kim explained that she injured her fingers while trying to close a sliding glass door. She was distracted by her son Saint, 8, which caused the door to slam shut on her fingers. She described the moment, saying, “It went boom and I was like, I looked at my hand and I fell to the ground.” Kim recounted the shock and pain she felt, describing it as more painful than childbirth. She also noted seeing her bone sticking out and experiencing severe bleeding.

Back in 2019, it was announced that Riverdale‘s Madelaine Petsch had signed on to star in a horror comedy called Clare at 16, which was going to be written and directed by Mark Pavia, the filmmaker behind the 1997 Stephen King adaptation The Night Flier, and based on a novel by Don Roff. That iteration of the project didn’t make it into production, and in 2022 Bella Thorne (Infamous) not only signed on to star in the title role of what was now being called Saint Clare, but she also brought Dying to Play (a.k.a. Braid) director Mitzi Peirone on board to write and direct the film. Saint Clare just had its premiere at the Taormina Film Festival, and during the event Thorne revealed to Deadline that she helped edit the serial killer movie.

The pages of history are a bloody story of war, crimes, and revenge, other than being a vast document of how humanity ended up at its current threshold. Many individuals have emerged throughout history who later became significant figures in the modern world, inspiring popular culture and gaining mass followings millennia after their deaths.

Blind and paralyzed, Pierre sits in his well-appointed Paris apartment attended by Séverine, the bored housewife at the heart of Luis Buñuel’s 1967 classic film Belle du Jour. It is arguably Catherine Deneuve’s best movie and helped establish the career of the French star, who went on to become the country’s leading lady for decades. In the scene, Deneuve wears a little black dress, stylish with its rounded white collar and cuffs. It was designed by Yves Saint Laurent, his iteration of Coco Chanel’s game-changing design that became a staple of women’s fashion. You can now see the dress firsthand in California at Yves Saint Laurent: Line and Expression, on view at Orange County Museum of Art in Costa Mesa through Oct. 27.

Over the 96 years of Academy Awards history, over 900 men and women have been honored with acting nominations. On July 4, 2024, the oldest surviving acting winner (or nominee) has turned 100 years old. Our research shows that Eva Marie Saint joins a very short list of centenarians who received Oscar acting nominations, with four winning the award.
A star of stage, radio, TV and film, Saint won the Best Supporting Actress statue in 1955 for her debut movie performance in “On the Waterfront;” she is also the earliest surviving acting winner, and one of the last stars of the Golden Era. She later starred alongside Cary Grant in one of Alfred Hitchcock‘s most acclaimed films, “North by Northwest” (1959), and became known to a younger generation as Clark Kent’s adoptive mother in “Superman Returns” (2006). Although she’s never received another Oscar nomination, she’s earned five Emmy nominations, winning Best Miniseries Supporting Actress...

“The longer you live, I think really the smarter you get…and hopefully, as an actress, that makes you a better actress, because you can understand things better.” Words of wisdom from the fascinating and elegant Eva Marie Saint, as told to TCM’s late host Robert Osborne in an interview that first aired in 2014. This special, Eva Marie Saint: Live From the TCM Classic Film Festival, is being replayed on July 4 (10/9c), marking her 100th birthday. It’s also the first of four Thursdays celebrating her as Star of the Month, a tribute that includes 1954’s On the Waterfront (8/7c). Her first feature film role, as the sensitive Edie Doyle, won Saint an Oscar as supporting actress opposite her Actors Studio colleague Marlon Brando. “I felt that he could see right through me,” she marvels, recalling that Brando’s unpredictable line readings for each take “kept you on your toes.

From statues that weep blood to dancing suns that lead to sudden darkness in the middle of the day, the Catholic faith overflows with accounts of miracles. But in order for a miracle to be deemed as such, it must go through a series of rigorous examinations during which the vast majority of occurences are debunked. The pious Rita López (Mónica Villa), the protagonist of Tomás Gómez Bustillo’s Chronicles of a Wandering Saint, spends her days seeking to be of service in her local church, but realizes nothing will pave her path to heaven faster than coming up with her own miracle––hence she enlists her husband Norberto (Horacio Marassi) in the restoration of a statue that might have mystical powers.

Just as most young actors who headed to New York post World War II, Eva Marie Saint was a staple on live television. In fact, her first TV appearance was in 1947 in a production of “A Christmas Carol” starring John Carradine as Scrooge. Saint, who celebrates her 100th birthday on July 4, told me in a 2013 L.A. Times interview that she didn’t appear on screen in her first TV gig that same year on NBC’s “The Borden Show.” She was hired to simply supply applause off-camera and called her parents to tell them the good news. “After the show, they called me and mom said, ‘Honey, we just love the show, and Dad thinks he heard you applauding.”’
Doing live TV got the lithe blonde actress a lot of exposure. One time it was way too much exposure. Between 1950-52, Saint appeared as the daughter of a high-powered San...

Coming-of-age stories are practically a sub-genre of their own. Coming-of-middle-age stories, however, tend to be, if not few and far between, then far more rare. That’s likely due to studio perceptions of what does and doesn’t sell: young adult-oriented films, yes, non-adult-oriented films, no. Ghostlight, Kelly O'Sullivan and Alex Thompson’s follow-up to 2019’s Independent Spirit Award-nominated Saint Frances, functions, at least in part, as a coming-of-middle story for its remarkably unremarkable central character, Dan Mueller (Keith Kupferer), a man torn by loss, grief, and outdated notions of masculinity. When we first meet Dan, a construction worker in a brightly colored vest and hard hat, he’s directing traffic on a busy Chicago street. From his faraway look, however, it’s evident Dan has other, potentially life-altering things in...

Death In Paradise returns to our screens in February, and the BBC have released plot and cast details.
Death In Paradise has been one of the BBC’s most successful dramas in recent years. Created by Robert Thorogood in 2011, the show’s thirteenth series is about to hit our screens. It has seen Ben Miller, Kris Marshall, Ardal O’Hanlon and current detective Ralf Little solve a remarkably high number of murders for such a small Caribbean island.
Last year, Marshall’s character Humphrey Goodman starred in spin-off Beyond Paradise, which paired him with Not Going Out star Sally Bretton and relocated the action to Cornwall. Proving popular with viewers, it recently returned for a Christmas special and a second series will be broadcast this year.
A further spin off, entitled Return to Paradise was announced last year, with action taking place in Australia.

Kim Kardashian hid her face from the paparazzi while out and about in Thousand Oaks, California. But that didn’t mean she kept her body covered as well. She opened her jacket when she saw the paparazzi and gave them an eyeful of the casual outfit that was underneath as she attended a sports event for one of her children.
The Skims founder was seen going into the Sports Academy. That is where her children, North and Saint West, play on basketball teams. Her casual gear was perfect for blending into the crowd, but Kardashian did something else when cameras started snapping. She gave photographers their money shot by dropping her jacket off her shoulders.

If you saw :a[Saint Maud]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/saint-maud/' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener'}, chances are it chewed you up and spat you out in the space of under 90 minutes – an instant psychological horror classic to leave you gasping for breath. And for her second feature, it seems like filmmaker Rose Glass isn’t slowing down. Her next movie is Love Lies Bleeding, an A24 revenge thriller – and the ultra-cool first trailer looks pretty astonishing. It looks to be a tale of romance, murder, and muscles galore, shot through with all the tension and incredible imagery that made Saint Maud so intoxicating – but this time in more of a pulse-pounding action mode. Check out the trailer here:
Phew. Anyone else feeling pumped up? The film centres on Kristen Stewart’s Lou, who becomes enamoured with Jackie – a bodybuilder played by Katy M. O’Brian.

English filmmaker Rose Glass's directorial debut, "Saint Maud," is a great horror film with an all-timer ending, but it was tragically buried after Covid-19 stormed the world in 2020. Thankfully, her sophomore feature as a writer/director, "Love Lies Bleeding," will get the red carpet treatment, starting with a midnight screening at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. The film stars Kristen Stewart as a gym manager who falls head-over-heels in love with a bodybuilder played by Katy O'Brian, an actor whom the internet has spent most of 2023 thirsting after looking at respectfully thanks to her roles as the brawny freedom fighter Jentorra in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and the treacherous Imperial turned New Republic double agent Elia Kane in "The Mandalorian."

This article contains spoilers for "The Nun 2."
For the most part, the stories in The Conjuring Universe are remembered as ghosts and hauntings, despite the fact that demons and possessions are very much embedded in the DNA of "The Conjuring," "Annabelle," and "The Nun" films. Ghosts are typically waved away as being "not real" and the demon Valak of "The Nun" series is based on Valac, a demon described in the anonymous book on sorcery, "The Lesser Key of Solomon." Malthus, the demon responsible for the cursed Annabelle doll is based on Halphas, also depicted in "The Lesser Key of Solomon" as well as in Johann Weyer's "Pseudomonarchia Daemonum," which identifies 69 (nice) demons and how to conjure them.
This is the same guide that named King Paimon of "Hereditary" fame, as well as Raum in "League of Legends." Valak is also present, but as "President Volac," which might as...

While Sicilian locals Lucia and Mia are wrecking havoc by tempting the wealthy clientele in “The White Lotus” Season 2, Simona Tabasco says her character is “playing the part of Lucia, the sex worker” to get one step closer to achieving her own ambitions.
“I totally think that she’s playing a part — that she was not an escort before, that she is someone who has made a decision about what she wanted to do and found a way to make it happen,” Tabasco told TheWrap. “So what she does is goes through life … and through the White Lotus, maybe in a sometimes clumsy, funny way of playing the part of Lucia, the sex worker, that’s just on a track to achieve her dream one way or another.”
Lucia is in the height of playing this role when she meets Albie, whose innocence and kindness brings back out the vulnerability...
