In his time on Jeopardy!, Isaac Hirsch was not only a great champion, but he was also a popular contestant. While many people find reasons to dislike long-running champs, Isaac was likable and self-deprecating and picked up a huge fanbase. It also appears he has a lot of people who started sending him DMs because they thought he was hot.
Isaac has a girlfriend, but he said that isn’t stopping men from sending “thirsty DMs” to him. Here is what Hirsch had to say.

Isaac Hirsch became an instant fan favorite during his nine-game winning streak on Jeopardy! earlier this year, and it turns out he was a big hit with a particular subsection of the audience. The customer support team lead from Burbank, California, walked away with over $215,000 after winning nine consecutive games on Jeopardy!‘s 40th season. However, in addition to the title of Jeopardy! champion, Hirsch earned the surprising title of “gay icon.” As first reported by The U.S. Sun, Hirsch appeared on the most recent edition of the What is…? A Jeopardy! podcast, where he opened up about receiving lots of attention from the show’s gay viewers, including “thirsty DMs.” “It was maybe the most surprising part of all of it,” Hirsch said after the podcast hosts referred to him as a “low-key gay icon.” Hirsch continued, “Because I’ve been out in public, and as far as I know,...

The Price Is Right’s host, Drew Carey is as easygoing as they get; however, a recent mishap during the show had him showing off his violent side … well, sort of! What exactly happened that had the comedian kicking the game show’s equipment? Read on for the details.
What Caused “The Price Is Right” Drew Carey To Kick A Game Machine?
“Flip Flop” is a popular game on the show. A machine that is used for it began to malfunction during a recent episode, where Carey needed to step in.
As Drew explained how the game worked to the contestant (Leanne), he went on to tell her that she would have to guess what the price was of a prize. He noted that she could “flip” the first two numbers or “flop” the last two, with the third option being flipping and flopping.

Paris, France, brought their A-game for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, but it seems they rarely did much right.
As the first Olympics not to be held in a stadium, the French people had the opportunity to put their beautiful country and culture on display. But they may have taken the phrase ‘entertaining the audience’ too far.
We all loved that Celine Dion and Lady Gaga performed at the ceremony, even if they were singing in French, but Christians were not amused when it seemed the French made a mockery of ‘The Last Supper.’

Basile is currently third in the poll with 26 votes. Hirsch, who recently won nine games in a row, sits in second with 119 votes. Hirsch, a customer support team lead from Burbank, California, had amassed $215,390 over nine games before a massive wager in the last round of the July 16 game cost him dearly. Now, fans have been able to hear Hirsch’s reaction to his stinging loss. On the latest edition of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss and former Tournament of Champions winner Buzzy Cohen played an exclusive clip of Hirsch’s comments right after his nine-game winning streak came to an end. “Isaac, you’re looking at your math right now,” host Ken Jennings said in the clip. “I did it wrong,” Hirsch replied. “I did my math incorrectly. Of course, another aspect to this that watchers also tune in for is to see a winning streak end. With the kind of momentum that Isaac Hirsch seemed to have, almost no one expected his streak to end at nine games. That was thanks to a new competitor named Jay Fischer.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the July 15 episode of Jeopardy!] Could there have been a new Jeopardy! champion if one of the new players of the July 15 game bet more on a Daily Double? Customer support team lead Isaac Hirsch from Burbank, California, came into the game an eight-day champion, with his winnings totaling $195,389. The two new contestants were drama club director Brenna Sniatecki from Rochester, New York, and non-profit program officer and actor James Hayakawa from Davis, California. And while Hirsch has had a few dominating performances, he didn’t have the easiest game. In fact, Hirsch was in second place at the first break of the Jeopardy! round, though by the end of it, he was in first, with $6,600. It was in Double Jeopardy! that things could have gotten interesting. Hirsch was incorrect upon finding the second Daily Double of the game, and then Sniatecki ...

Many Jeopardy! questions are obscure and hard for most people, but for some the answers come easily. This happened with a St. Louis-based question about dog food. The answer stumped all three contestants, but many fans at home instantly knew it. Even Ken Jennings delivered the answer as if it was common knowledge.
Here is the question the contestants missed and what fans had to say about it.
Jeopardy Fans Miss Dog Food-Related Question
On Tuesday’s Jeopardy! episode, Isaac Hirsch was defending his streak (four days at the time) against Kathy Davis, a chemistry professor, and Anna Paone, a stay-at-home mom. By the end of the game, Isaac had won his fifth game in a row.

However, along the way, one question stumped everyone. Ken Jennings read the Double Jeopardy! question from “A Shapely Category.” He said, “Now part of Nestlé, this pet food brand is headquartered at Checkerboard Square in St.

Did President Joe Biden‘s delayed press conference interrupt your local air time of Jeopardy! last night? If so, you’re not alone. The press conference was set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Et but was delayed, thus cutting into the game show’s air time in different time zones. If you missed out on the July 11 Final Jeopardy because of this, not to worry. There’s an easy way to watch what you missed despite the fact that new episodes of Jeopardy! aren’t available for next-day streaming. Competing in the episode was returning champ Isaac Hirsch, a customer support team lead from Burbank, California. He started the evening with six wins under his belt and over $100,000 in winnings. He played against Liz McKenna, a school administrator from South Plainfield, New Jersey, and Robert Voyles, a public librarian originally from Lindenhurst, New York. Hirsch was in the lead...

Jeopardy! Season 40 has been full of five-time-or-more champions of late, but is Isaac Hirsch the one to beat when it comes to the Tournament of Champions pool? Some fans are starting to think so. On Wednesday’s (July 10) episode of Jeopardy!, Hirsch was matched with entrepreneur Larry P. Wellington and fundraiser Alex Pribil for his sixth consecutive game, and his performance has left some fans drawing major comparisons to some all-time-great Jeopardy! champs. Things started out on an auspicious note for Hirsch right out of the gate, as he trounced the competition in correct answers, netting $8,000 on 15 answers to Pribil’s $3,200 and Wellington’s $1,800. The competition tightened a bit in Double Jeopardy, though, as Wellington picked up speed and Pribil nabbed both Daily Doubles. (For the first, he bet it all and lost $4,400 after not knowing the Nile ...

Isaac Hirsch continued his winning streak on Tuesday night’s (July 9) episode of Jeopardy! but not without a little drama. Hirsch competed against chemistry professor Kathy Davis and stay-at-home mom Anna Paone for his fifth game and found himself in a bit of hot water at the start of the first round: Davis was a far better buzzer than him at first. Eventually, though, he caught up, and by the start of Double Jeopardy, he led the pack with $4,200 to Davis’ $3,800 and Paone’s $2,600. And that’s when the real drama began. During Double Jeopardy, Hirsch had a staggering number of incorrect answers become correct after reconsideration. In all, there were three of his answers that producers eventually accepted, adding a whopping $4,000 to his winnings and putting him at $19,400 to Paone’s $9,800 and Davis’ $3,800 ahead of Final Jeopardy. Just a few hundred points shy of a runaway, Hirsch’s fate...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the July 8 episode of Jeopardy!] Heading into the July 8 episode of Jeopardy!, Isaac only needed one more win to be eligible for the next Tournament of Champions. (Four wins are needed during regular season play.) He was impressive in his first three games—not the first episodes of a game show in which he’s participated), and host Ken Jennings did bring up his dominating runaway game from July 5. The customer support team lead from Burbank, California came in with winnings totaling $70,186. Facing off with him were project coordinator Stephanie Lewis and data scientist Karan Menon. And unfortunately for them, they didn’t really seem to have a chance. Hirsch dominated the Jeopardy! round with significant leads at each break. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the July 5 episode of Jeopardy!] It was easy to see who would be walking away with the win in the July 5 episode of Jeopardy!, but second place was a different story—not that it should have been. Customer support team lead Isaac Hirsch, from Burbank, California, returned as a two-day champ with winnings totaling $47,986. He faced off against writer and editor Sarah Crocker, from Aurora, Colorado, and Duke University rising senior Alex Wang, from Harrington Park, New Jersey, and delivered a dominating performance. Hirsch led after the Jeopardy! and Double Jeopardy! rounds, heading into Final Jeopardy! with $26,200 to Crocker’s $5,000 and Wang’s $1,600. And that came after two modest wagers when he found the second and third Daily Doubles of the game, $2,000 each. He was correct both times. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the July 4 episode of Jeopardy!] Current Jeopardy! champion Isaac Hirsch may be nowhere close to Buzzy Cohen’s nine-game streak, but he does have one up on the other champ: He beat him on The Chase in 2023! On The Chase, three competitors face off against a quiz genius (a Chaser) determined to stop them from winning cash prizes. Cohen is a Chaser known as “The Stunner” on there. In Season 3, in 2023, Hirsch played alongside John Lance and Allison Johnson and defeated Cohen. He won $46,667 of a $140,000 total. That’s not the only game show Hirsch has appeared on. He was also on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2017. How Brad Could Bump Into Angelina in Venice
Running into an ex at a party can be awkward. But imagine if the party is the Venice Film Festival and the exes are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. That potentially incendiary meet-cute could well happen, as both are starring in films that seem to be probable contenders in Italy. Pitt’s movie, Wolfs, doesn’t sound much like festival fodder — it’s a buddy comedy about rival crime-scene “fixers” who are both called to remove the same dead body, directed by the guy who made Spider-Man: Far From Home, Jon Watts — except that Pitt’s buddy in the film is George Clooney, a part-time Italiano who gets lots of love in Venice. Jolie, meanwhile, is starring in Maria, a drama about opera singer Maria Callas that couldn’t sound more like a festival flick if it were shot in Budapest by...

Lionsgate has struck a deal to distribute Francis Ford Coppola’s polarising Megalopolis in North America following its recent Cannes world premiere.
‘Megalopolis’: Cannes Review
The epic sci-fi starring Adam Driver as a visionary architect will open in the US and Canada including Imax on September 27.
The deal with Lionsgate appears to be purely a distribution play and not an acquisition. Recouping would be a tall order for distributors given that Coppola, who envisioned the film decades ago, sold part of his vineyard to fund the $120m production.

When Disney Channel’s The Owl House first blasted into the Demon Realm in 2020, the animated series provided a delightful escape from reality for kid and adult viewers alike. Although the show ran for just three seasons, it amassed a fiercely loyal fanbase and garnered widespread acclaim for its blend of humor, horror, and heartfelt storytelling.
Created by Dana Terrace, the series centered on Luz Noceda (Sarah-Nicole Robles), a 14-year-old Dominican-American girl who finds a portal that leads to Boiling Isles, a magical realm in another dimension. Luz decides to stay and pursue her dream of becoming a witch, attending Hexside Academy and befriending a host of eccentric characters like her mentor Eda (Wendie Malick), skull-headed titan King (Alex Hirsch), and quirky house demon Hooty (also Hirsch).

Gravity Falls could possibly be resurrected as Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television Meredith Roberts hinted they’re in talks with the show’s creator.

Two works from the early queer literary canon will see audiobook release this June, narrated by actor Emile Hirsch.
Both were authored by Fritz Peters, an overlooked trailblazer in the 1950s who wrote frank and intimate depictions of homosexuality, spirituality and mental health struggles. The books are the novel “Finistère” and the memoir “Boyhood With Gurdjieff,” hitting audio platforms in time for global pride celebrations.
The recordings mark Hirsch’s first in the space, save voicing a character in “Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans,” the animated film from Guillermo del Toro. Known for films like “Into the Wild” and “Milk,” he will next appear in the holocaust film “‘Bau, Artist at War.”
Despite selling big in his time, Peters’ catalogue had fallen into relative obscurity compared to literati peers like Gore Vidal, Henry Miller and Eudora Welty. Production company Hirsch Giovanni acquired the author’s complete works two years ago and serve as re-release publishers.

Two producers who attempted to make a biopic about Roberto Clemente are now suing the baseball legend’s sons, alleging that the family twice sold the rights to Clemente’s life story.
Producers Jonah Hirsch and Angel Munoz announced plans in March 2023 to adapt the family-written biography, “Clemente: The True Legacy of an Undying Hero,” into a feature film. But after the announcement, the pair discovered that Thomas Tull, the former CEO of Legendary Pictures, was developing his own Clemente feature.
Legendary, which produced “42,” starring Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson, had optioned Clemente’s life rights in 2015, intending to produce a film based on the David Maraniss biography “Clemente: The Passion and Grace of Baseball’s Last Hero.”
According to the suit, the Clemente family initially claimed that Legendary had failed to make a payment, causing the life rights to revert back to the family. But that turned out to be untrue,...

Star Wars is now one of the biggest franchises of all time. Whether it is the movies, TV shows, toys, or comics, the franchise has now become a part of popular culture and will undeniably remain so, for decades to come. Yet, the first-ever Star Wars movie was plagued with development and production issues, so severe were these issues that George Lucas nearly had a heart attack.

In the middle of these issues, Lucas decided to screen the rough cut of the movie to some of his industry colleagues. While auteurs like Steven Spielberg struggled to understand it, even the movie’s editor, Paul Hirsch was unable to make heads or tails out of it.

After concluding March with Raja Gosnell’s Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (listen) and James Whale’s The Invisible Man (listen), we kicked off April with a discussion of Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley (listen). Now we’re checking off another classic with John Landis‘ 1981 werewolf film, An American Werewolf in London. In the film, American best friends David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne) are horrifically attacked while backpacking through the UK Moors. Jack is killed and David spends a month recuperating in the hospital, where he befriends attractive nurse Alex (Jenny Agutter) and kindly Dr. Hirsch (John Woodvine). On the cusp of his release, the mangled corpse of Jack visits David, warning that on the full moon he will become a lycanthrope unless he kills himself. But David is unable to accept his fate and a series of terrible murders follow. As the bodies (and the comedy) pile up,...

Francis Ford Coppola’s long-awaited “Megalopolis” will have its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, IndieWire has confirmed.
While the full festival lineup will be announced April 10, Deadline first reported that the epic has received the gala premiere slot at Cannes for a May 17 debut and that it will play in competition.
However, “Megalopolis” still has not secured distribution, IndieWire understands. Coppola’s attorney Barry Hirsch is working on selling the film, and he previously told IndieWire the film was unlikely to debut at a festival until it landed distribution.
The feature will be Coppola’s return to Cannes following his respective Palme d’Or wins for “The Conversation” and “Apocalypse Now.” His other Cannes film was “Tetro,” which screened in Directors Fortnight.

If there’s ever a movie from the late 2000s deserving of its reevaluation, might we thrust Speed Racer to the front? A dizzying piece of pop that zooms like an acid trip through the world of racing and anime, the movie just did not connect with audiences…outside of those actively under a certain kind of influence, at least. To say it went under the radar – taking in $44 million domestically on a $120 million budget – would be an understatement, but it has gained a lot traction in the 15+ years since its release, taking on a cult status that was sort of always there underneath the rubble.
Speed Racer star Emile Hirsch is well aware of the movie’s modern reception, although it does remind him of its flop at the box office. “When it came out, it was unanimously dogged…I remember we were all like, ‘Man, this movie is so good.

Actor Ryan Phillippe shared his experience on the set of his new action thriller film Prey.
Phillippe revealed what about the film he originally connected with. “The idea of being on this plane that goes down in a reserve, for big prey, for big game, it just captured my imagination pretty immediately,” Phillippe told uInterview founder Erik Meers, who first interviewed the actor for the cover of Paper magazine in 2001.
He continued, “You know, I like survival movies, and I felt like this was one where any of us could put ourselves in that situation, mentally, and it’s terrifying, you know, and so it was a really easy sell in regards to what the idea of the movie was, and I like that a lot of times, I think that in its simplicity there is relatability to that because you can imagine what if it happened to you, or whatever.

Max has set April 4 for the U.S. premiere of its new animated children’s series Hop from Arthur creator Marc Brown and fellow Arthur alums Peter K. Hirsch and Tolon Brown. The 26-episode series will debut with six half-hour episodes, with the remaining episodes to roll out this year.
Co-created by Marc Brown, Hirsch and Tolon Brown, Hop follows an eclectic group of besties whose comedic adventures teach preschoolers to embrace their own, and others’, uniqueness. Led by Hop, an enthusiastic, empathetic frog with one leg shorter than the other, he and his quirky friends address kid-relatable challenges with a healthy dose of laughter, silliness, and adventure.
Set in the aspirational community of Fair Village, every episode is grounded in emotional reality but soars into the world of fantasy, populated by dragons, trolls, and talking banjos. With a gentle balance of humor and heart, our heroes promise to captivate...

Starz is expanding the Power Universe again with a prequel spinoff series that will reunite Ghost and Tommy.
In the vein of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which follows the youthful years of everyone’s favorite foe, Kanan Stark (played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson), the new series Origin will follow the early years of the beloved duo of Ghost and Tommy’s (played by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora in the Og series).
Fans of Raising Kanan have been asking for seasons when Ghost and Tommy would run into Kanan since the teens met in high school, yet those characters had never been cast. But as Tommy reappeared after Power in Power Book II: Ghost before spinning off into his series Power Book IV: Force, it would make sense if Ghost and Tommy appeared in Raising Kanan before Origins. And to add one more piece of pure speculation on my end,...

For the past six years in a row, the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor has gone to men with more than 35 minutes of screen time in their respective films. Although four of last year’s nominees could have bucked that trend, the academy chose to keep things consistent by honoring Ke Huy Quan’s especially lengthy performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” By appearing in a whopping 58 minutes and 33 seconds (or 42.03%) of the Best Picture winner, he more than comfortably surpassed his category’s screen time average and came within nine minutes of outpacing every previous supporting male victor.
Quan’s performance is the second longest in his film, as he and his Best Actress-winning on-screen wife, Michelle Yeoh, are separated by 36 minutes and 43 seconds (or 26.35%). Directly below him is Stephanie Hsu – who earned a supporting bid as his character’s daughter – at 42:18 (30.36%). Considering all 87 featured male turns that have merited Academy Awards,...

By racking up three Best Actress Oscar notices between the ages of 26 and 32, previous teenage supporting nominee Jodie Foster proved it possible to earn academy recognition more than twice during adulthood after initially charming them as a child. Now, nearly three decades later, she has improved upon that distinction by landing her fifth career bid for “Nyad,” thus entering the Best Supporting Actress arena for the first time as an adult. Since her two featured bids are separated by 47 years, she now holds the record for longest span between consecutive Oscar nominations in a single acting category.
Foster, who first caught the academy’s attention at 14, belongs to the 18% minority of child nominees who went on to contend as adults. She was preceded in that regard by 17-year-old “Rebel Without a Cause” (1956) cast mates Sal Mineo and Natalie Wood and has only been followed by Saoirse Ronan, who competed for...

Charles Melton hasn’t had a great week. First, he missed out on the BAFTA longlist for Best Supporting Actor. Then, he was snubbed by the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards in their list of official nominees. The two notable omissions have damaged Melton’s chances of an Oscar nomination for his breakout role in Todd Haynes‘ exquisite “May December.”
