The upcoming TV series Welcome to Derry, which will serve as a prequel to Warner Bros’ two-part adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel It (pick up a copy Here), was originally meant to be for the Max streaming service, but we recently learned that it will be airing on HBO as well. The show went into production in Port Hope, Ontario earlier this year, aiming for a 2025 premiere – and not only did some footage from the show make its way into the HBO promo embedded above, but it has also been revealed that production has wrapped!
Brad Caleb Kane (Tokyo Vice) and Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman), who was a co-producer on It: Chapter Two, are the showrunners on Welcome to Derry. The show is being executive produced by Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the sibling director/producer duo that was behind the two It movies, through their production company Double Dream.

The fact of the matter is that sometimes a movie franchise needs to gracefully retire. It's a bitter truth to accept, especially when expectations are high among both long-time fans and newcomers. While 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F' wasn't a complete disappointment, it fell notably short of its predecessors. The film lacked the trademark humor, adrenaline-pumping action, and overall charisma that defined the series. In short, it failed to capture the essence that made the previous films classics. Eddie Murphy's relationship dynamic with his wife, Paige Butcher, has been put on the spot as she's rumored to be "calling the shots."
Despite the actor's larger-than-life persona, it appears that behind closed doors, Butcher is the one running things, as a source shared that she doesn't let him get away with anything.
The system seems to be working well for Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher, as their home is understood to be peaceful, especially because the iconic comedian doesn't complain about it.

The first teaser trailer for The Toxic Avenger remake was released last October. We haven't heard much since then, though reviews from various film festivals have been largely positive.
However, word comes from World of Reel today that filmmaker Macon Blair's movie starring Peter Dinklage is currently considered "unreleasable."
The site claims to have spoken to a producer who says The Toxic Avenger's commercial prospects are too "out there" for any sort of traditional theatrical release, likely explaining why the movie still has no confirmed distributor.
As a result, it's looking increasingly likely that it will have to be offloaded to a streamer or go straight to VOD.
There's been a fair bit of excitement surrounding The Toxic Avenger, so the news it may never see the light of day is deeply troubling. Yes, that's a possibility according to the site. Here's an excerpt from their report:

Working on the latest installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise is both a dream come true and a bucket list moment for Kevin Bacon. The iconic actor joined forces with Eddie Murphy in Axel F, the latest chapter in the beloved series. Returning to Beverly Hills In Axel F, Eddie Murphy reprises his role of Axel Foley, who now returns to Beverly Hills when his estranged daughter, defense attorney Jane (played by Taylour Paige), finds herself entangled in a case involving corrupt cops. Alongside Murphy, Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are among the new faces brought on board for...

There was little doubt that Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F would enjoy quite the debut on Netflix, with the only question being just how well it would do. Well, Netflix announced today that the long-awaited sequel has debuted at the #1 spot on the English Films List with 41 million views, easily making it the most-watched title of the week.
The #2 spot was filled by the romantic comedy A Family Affair, starring Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron. It had 31.9 million views, nearly 10 million less than Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. I still think this film would have done great in theaters, but what can you do?
Now, what does this mean for another Beverly Hills Cop sequel? It likely confirms that Eddie Murphy and producer Jerry Bruckheimer were right to have already started brainstorming ideas. “They’re developing it,” Murphy said at last month’s world premiere. “If it comes together, we’ll be doing another one.

The return of Eddie Murphy to the iconic role of Axel Foley has the internet abuzz. Not only has Murphy been making the most of his press tour, but he’s also having fun reliving Beverly Hills Cop as a major franchise in pop culture. Axel Foley is back for another onscreen mission, and he brought another nostalgic figure we never thought we’d see again.
In celebration of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Netflix has teamed up with early aughts ringtone icon Crazy Frog for a music video that pits him against the titular detective reprised by Eddie Murphy.
The pairing might appear random, given that Crazy Frog was a Swedish CGI-animated Eurodance character created in 2003, nearly a decade after Beverly Hills Cop III was released in 1994. But the character created by Erik Wernquist noted in the description of the YouTube video that he and Axel F “have been an iconic duo since 2005.”
Crazy Frog previously released a cover of ‘Axel F’, the original 1984 movie’s electronic theme song by German musician Harold Faltermeyer, which reached the top of the charts across most of Europe in 2005. His latest video offers a whole new remix of the track.

Spoiler Warning: This story mentions major spoilers for “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” now streaming on Netflix.
Axel Foley is back in Beverly Hills, and so is Eddie Murphy.
“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” director Mark Molloy set out to make a film with the same feeling and tone as the 1984 classic “Beverly Hills Cop” and its 1987 sequel, “Beverly Hills Cop 2.” He calls the latest film in the franchise “my love letter to the first two films.”
Molloy recruited Jahmin Assa, the film’s production designer, to pay tribute to those earlier chapters in numerous ways. Assa’s goal was to create something that made “Los Angeles feel timeless and as fresh as it did in the 1980s,” and that included shutting down city streets in Detroit and Los Angeles to finding the perfect location to execute a 1980s-style mansion shootout for the film’s third act, and crash...

Eddie Murphy’s career has had more ups and downs than an elevator, but his resurgence as a straight-to-streaming movie star in the past few years has given him the juice to revisit some of the biggest hits of his past. Three years ago, there was “Coming 2 America” on Prime Video. Now, 30 years after “Beverly Hills Cop III,” he’s back again with “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” which is streaming on Netflix.
The fourth movie brings motor-mouthed Motor City cop Axel Foley back to La La Land to rescue his daughter, Jane (Taylour Paige), with his new partner, Beverly Hills detective Bobby Abbott (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who’s also Jane’s ex-boyfriend. Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot all reprise their long-ago roles, with Kevin Bacon joining the lineup as a police captain. “Axel F” isn’t going to win any Oscars, but it does deserve...

“Beverly Hills Cop” and its young exuberant star Eddie Murphy were dominant forces on the cultural landscape as soon as the action comedy opened Dec. 5, 1984 on 1,532 screens, earning over $15 million in its first five days of release. “Beverly Hills Cop” garnered nearly $235 million domestically and another $81.6 million internationally.
The comedy even earned an Oscar nomination for its screenplay while Murphy hit superstar status thanks to his dazzling comedic turn as Axel Foley, a freewheeling Detroit cop who is the ultimate fish out of water when a murder investigation leads him to the by-the-book Beverly Hills police department. And the soundtrack album featuring the film’s composer Harold Faltermeyer’s hit “Axel F,” as well as the Pointer Sisters‘ “Neutron Dance” and Glenn Frey’s “The Heat is On,” hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
Three years later, Murphy returned in “Beverly Hills Cop II,” which made close to $300 million worldwide...

It's been nearly 30 years since we last saw Axel Foley, the wisecracking Detroit cop played by Eddie Murphy, bring his street smarts to the posh streets of Beverly Hills. Now Netflix has revived the beloved franchise with the new film 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,' reuniting Murphy with original cast members Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Bronson Pinchot, and Paul Reiser.
This time around, Detective Foley heads back to Beverly Hills to save his estranged daughter and district attorney (played by Taylour Paige) from potential danger while investigating a murder. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Paige’s cop ex-boyfriend, who joins in the mayhem as Foley and his pals uncover a conspiracy involving drug cartels.
How does the film stack up against the other movies in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise? Not bad, according to early IMDb user voting. Two days after premiering on Netflix, the fourth film has 15K votes with a respectable 6.7 average IMDb rating. That rating puts it above previous sequels ‘Beverly Hills Cop II’ (1987) at 6.5/10 stars and 134K votes, and 1994’s maligned ‘Beverly Hills Cop III,’ which sits at 5.5 with 90K votes. Unsurprisingly, the iconic original ‘Beverly Hills Cop’—directed by Martin Brest in 1984—has the highest score, with an impressive 7.4 rating with 209K votes.
If all this talk of Eddie Murphy and ‘80s buddy cop movies has you feeling nostalgic, IMDb spoke with the cast and crew of ’Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ to get their favorite films from the ‘80s and their must-see Murphy flicks. The box-office success of Top Gun: Maverick and the recent Bad Boys sequels have proven that there’s undoubtedly a market for belated revivals of Jerry Bruckheimer-produced blockbusters. So it was simply only a matter of time before Eddie Murphy dusted off Axel Foley’s Detroit Lions jacket for another installment in the 40-year-old Beverly Hills Cop franchise.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F finds Foley once again journeying to Los Angeles, this time to help his lawyer daughter crack a dangerous case involving corrupt cops.
While this easily could have been a cynical nostalgia-baiting cash grab — known in the industry as “pulling a Fuller House” — there’s a lot to love about Axel F, starting with how…

With the exception of the Rudy Ray Moore biopic Dolemite Is My Name, Murphy’s recent cinematic output has been far from stellar.

The Beverly Hills Cop series of films is a pop culture phenomenon. The first film was released in 1984, and ever since, it has set quite the precedent in the comedy genre. Eddie Murphy became a superstar overnight, and the actor/comedian has not looked back ever since. Beverly Hills Cop is a cop comedy film that follows Axel Foley, who always finds himself in this part of Los Angeles and has friends who help him solve cases that are outside his jurisdiction. The fourth film, a Netflix Original, is a sequel to the third film released thirty years ago. Three decades later, Axel is back, and this time there are far more important people to him whose lives are at stake.

Kevin Bacon and Eddie Murphy are both ’80s icons, but the pair never actually worked together until Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which Bacon said was a “bucket list” moment for him.
“[It’s a] bucket list thing to work with him. He is one of our greatest movie stars ever,” Bacon told People of working with Murphy on the Beverly Hills Cop sequel. “Our paths never crossed in the ’80s. We never worked together. I don’t remember even having met him — I’m sure we probably did, but I don’t remember.” The actor plays Captain Cade Grant in the sequel, a police captain in the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’s Mark Molloy is now the latest in a long line of filmmakers who Jerry Bruckheimer has recruited from the world of advertising.
Having written or directed at least four commercials for Apple, the humble Australian filmmaker won’t allow himself to say that he followed in the same footsteps as fellow Bruckheimer discoveries Tony Scott and Michael Bay, but in his ongoing effort to change up the status quo, the celebrated producer has frequently found new talent through commercials and music videos. In the ‘80s, Scott was one of a handful of British commercial directors who took their unconventional styles to the States, and Bruckheimer and Don Simpson’s Top Gun (1986) served as his American debut. The massive success of that film prompted the two producing partners to quickly rehire Scott for Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), a film that Molloy channeled in Netflix’s...

First released in 1984, Martin Brest’s “Beverly Hills Cop” was one of the defining movies of its decade, and a huge stepping stone (along with “48 Hrs.” and “Trading Places”) toward stardom for Eddie Murphy. It not only spawned two sequels over the next decade, but set a template for action comedies that persists today. “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” marks the overdue fourth installment in the franchise and introduces with it a director to watch: Mark Molloy.
After beginning his career as a director of commercials for brands like Nike, Google and Apple, Molloy makes his feature debut with “Axel F,” which drew heavily from the first two “Beverly Hills Cop” films while pushing forward the story of its eponymous detective, now father to an equally-driven but estranged daughter (played by “Zola” breakout Taylour Paige).

Eddie Murphy is back as Axel Foley to help celebrate the 4th of July holiday. He is returning to one of his most legendary roles in Mark Molloy’s Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which is playing exclusively on Netflix. The previous entry in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, Beverly Hills Cop III, was released in 1994 and received mixed reviews. In the latest chapter of the Axel Foley saga, Detroit’s finest ditches the rickety rides of Wonder World to return to the streets of Beverly Hills after his daughter, Jane Saunders, is threatened.

This article contains spoilers for "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F."
Actors almost never become movie stars overnight. Even the born-to-dazzle likes of Cary Grant, Marilyn Monroe, and Paul Newman needed a bit of runway to soar to that rarified Hollywood air. Eddie Murphy, however, needed just one moment in his first movie to become a generational showbiz phenomenon.
That moment arrived 38 minutes into Walter Hill's 1982 action-comedy hit "48 Hrs.," when Murphy's furloughed criminal Reggie Hammond convinces Nick Nolte's Detective Jack Cates to let him shakedown a redneck bar's racist patrons for information on the whereabouts of a cop killer. Reggie, tired of Cates insistence that it takes "bullls*** and experience" to successfully interrogate suspects, invites the officer to "Come on in and experience some of my bulls***." Armed with nothing but Cates' shield and his mouth, Reggie bullies cows a saloon full of hostile white folks into terrified silence.

The trend of "legacy sequel" films are called that for a reason. For one thing, they cannot be labeled as such if a franchise has been mostly active ever since its inception (thus most horror franchises need not apply). For another, they all tend to deal with a literal question of legacy in some fashion. Some of these films approach that question from a "What influence does someone leave on the world" perspective, but many look at it from the most relatable angle: family.
Even though, technically, "Beverly Hills Cop" isn't wholly a 1980s franchise, it effectively is. The original 1984 film, directed by Martin Brest, helped solidify Eddie Murphy as a bonafide movie star, kicked the careers of producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson into a higher gear, and showcased a score by composer Harold Faltermeyer that arguably best encapsulates the sound of the decade. Nostalgia — it Ain’T what it used to be. Right around the halfway mark of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, a.k.a. the fourth time out for Eddie Murphy’s streetwise detective, our man Axel strides to the front desk of a posh L.A. hotel. He’s rockin’ his usual Detroit-plainclothes-chic uniform of varsity jacket, T-shirt, jeans and white sneakers. Seeing Murphy, who looks better at 63 than most of us did at 33, in his old get-up is already enough of a time-machine nudge on its own. Now he...

It’s been over 30 years since Eddie Murphy’s intrepid Detroit detective, Axel Foley, last graced movie screens in Beverly Hills Cop III. A much-loved franchise from the 1980s, the films followed the fish-out-of-water Axel as he traded the gritty streets of Detroit for sun-drenched Southern California, blazing his own trail to solve crimes and throwing more than a few spanners in the works of the fancy Beverly Hills Police Department along the way.
Now in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Murphy returns once again as the wisecracking yet dedicated cop, this time bringing his rebellious energy to help his estranged lawyer daughter Jane. When masked intruders dangle her from a parking structure, Axel jumps on a plane and dusts off the signature Lions windbreaker that made him an icon to find out who’s behind the threats. Eddie Murphy is back to reprise one of his most iconic roles, Axel Foley, once again returning to Beverly Hills. With the same soundtrack and the same sense of humor while picking up the narrative style, this time, the story features Taylor Paige as Foley’s daughter with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon.
Plot of “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F”
Axel Foley, from Detroit, returns to Beverly Hills to investigate a case involving his lawyer daughter, who is being threatened to drop the case.

Coming almost thirty years after the last installment in the franchise was released – and nearly forty years after the series debuted – Eddie Murphy returns as Detroit Detective Axel Foley in the latest release from Netflix Films – Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. What is remarkably refreshing about the not-so-young cop’s new adventure is that it may be the best of the series since it started back in 1984.
Foley’s latest case has him returning to Beverly Hills after his longtime friend Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) is reported missing by Foley’s estranged daughter (Taylour Paige) and Axel heads to California to find out what happened to his old friend. Once in Beverly Hills, the case of Billy’s disappearance quickly becomes the tip of an iceberg leading Axel to uncover a conspiracy that may threaten the entire Beverly Hills police force.

Murphy’s maverick cop – and his theme music – are back to fight corruption, but four decades on there’s little energy to enliven their formulaic reunion
Eddie Murphy isn’t finished yet – as he proved with his barnstormer of a performance as Blaxploitation pioneer Rudy Ray Moore in Dolemite Is My Name. But there’s something a bit tired and formulaic about this further go-around for his iconic Detroit cop Axel Foley from the Beverly Hills Cop action-comedy franchise which 40 years ago made Murphy an explosive Hollywood star – and whose catchy Axel F theme became an 80s anthem, duly revived here. He’s back for the fourth film, yet again leaving his Detroit turf to be a scruffy fish-out-of-water in the hilariously chi-chi world of Beverly Hills, yet again wryly noticing from the wheel of his car, on the way in, a montage of all the crazy California stuff, including...

Plot: After an attempt on his daughter’s life and the disappearance of his friend Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold), Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) returns to Beverly Hills to do battle with a group of corrupt cops.
Review: Right off the bat, it’s clear that Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F director Mark Molloy nailed the assignment. In the movie’s first scene, we see Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley driving around his beloved Detroit, cracking a smile as Glenn Frey’s “The Heat is On” fills the soundtrack. It’s not subtle, but it delivers the message loud and clear that for the first time since the second film in 1987, we can legitimately say there’s a new Beverly Hills Cop movie out, and it kicks butt. Wholeheartedly embracing an R-rating, with frequent F-bombs and surprisingly hardcore action beats, Molloy’s made a movie that will likely prove to...

Eddie Murphy cheerfully shoots his way through California’s wrong ‘uns in a charming revival of a 40-year-old franchise. Here’s our Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F review.
As the first Beverly Hills Cop movie to be released after its iconic theme was covered by Crazy Frog, Axel F perhaps lands on Netflix with more baggage than most.
It’s landing straight on Netflix, for a start, in a period where the streamer’s original output hasn’t been exactly glowing (Richard Linklater’s Hit Man being a notable exception). Action-comedy The Fall Guy just failed to set the box office alight, and after years of sequels, reboots, and sequel-reboots, it’s easy to imagine that we’re approaching peak franchise-fatigue. Was anyone really asking for a Beverly Hills Cop 4?
The answer might well be no, but, now that it’s here, I’m happy to report that Beverly Hills Cop...

After the 1994 Beverly Hills Cop III, it seemed as if Eddie Murphy was done with the franchise. Within years, he trash-talked the ending. The franchise and character that helped make him a superstar needed him. Yet, with box office sensations and Oscar nominations on the horizon, Murphy entered a new era. Now, forty years after his first leading role, Murphy returns in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. However, could the comedy actor ever really come home again?

Nostalgia, when it comes to reviving an old movie series, can be axiomatic. Every so often you see a genuine great piece of nostalgia — like “Creed” or the 2009 “Star Trek” reboot or the 2014 “Godzilla.” But then there’s the kind of nostalgia represented by “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.” Plotted like a generic police-corruption thriller, lit with cruddy efficiency, pausing every 10 minutes or so for a “light” moment, the movie is no “Beverly Hills Cop.” But it’s better than the ballistic noise orgy that was “Beverly Hills Cop II” (1986) or the clunky retro mess of “Beverly Hills Cop III” (1994), so I guess we should be grateful. And I suspect that a lot of viewers who grew up in the ’80s will be.
Let’s be clear, though, about the level of nostalgia this movie is aiming for. “Axel F.” is studded with moments that are designed to be time-machine triggers,...

Eddie Murphy was only 23 when "Beverly Hills Cop" arrived in theaters in 1984, and the action comedy helped make him a superstar. Murphy's raw talent was already apparent thanks to his work on "Saturday Night Live," a show he joined when he as 19. His feature debut in Walter Hill's 1982 flick "48 Hrs." took him even further, as did his follow-up movie, 1983's "Trading Places". But "Beverly Hills Cop," directed by Martin Brest, helped solidify that Murphy was the real deal; a bonafide movie star. It was a mega-hit, and almost immediately made trash-talking Detroit cop Axel Foley an iconic character. Murphy was so cool, so confident, so suave that he took the character to extreme heights, taking a high concept pitch — what if a tough city cop ended up in posh Beverly Hills? — and creating movie magic in the process. Like Eddie Murphy, Axel Foley was young, hip, and in-demand.

Driving into town in his beat-up Chevy Nova, Detroit detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) still cannot believe the sights of Beverly Hills. He looks with bewilderment at high-fashion stores, a man dressed like a rockstar, and a blonde in a Corvette who offers a playful wink despite her boyfriend in the adjoining seat. Foley ends the sequence with his infectious chuckle, out of place in Beverly Hills but not out of ideas.
When Foley returns 40 years later for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, he repeats the drive in yet another beat-up vehicle. He notices a new set of California absurdities, including a child shooting video for his Instagram modeling mother and a woman in full burka passing Tom Ford’s store. But nothing here shocks Foley these days. Nothing drives him to his classic chuckle. Instead he gives it all a knowing smile and drives on.

It is hard to believe it has been 40 years since Eddie Murphy first exploded onto the screen as one of his signature characters, Axel Foley, in 1984’s Beverly Hills Cop. But even if that 22 year old is now 63, he is still on the beat and doesn’t miss a beat all these years later in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, almost seeming to have stopped time with this character who is just as funny, sharp and entertaining as ever.
The original was the top-grossing movie of its year and led to two sequels, one in 1987 and another in 1994. That’s right, we haven’t had an Axel fix for 30 years, though not for lack of trying; there were several scripts along the way, but none felt right to its star until finally bringing in producer Jerry Bruckheimer who (with late partner Don Simpson) made the first couple of films.

There are a few valid reasons to make a sequel four decades down the track from an action-comedy blockbuster that left an indelible pop-cultural imprint: 1. A smart script with a completely fresh take on a formulaic genre. 2. Writing that digs into the ways an iconic character known for his rule-breaking irreverence adjusts to the social shifts of a different century. 3. New technology that allows for more explosive thrills. 4. The nostalgia of audiences for whom the original holds enduringly fond memories. 5. Lil Nas X agrees to write and perform a song, spinning rap verses around synthmeister Harold Faltermeyer’s catchy theme tune.
Sauntering along 30 years after the third installment opened to scalding reviews and underwhelming grosses, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F justifies its existence only with points 4 and 5. Which will likely be enough to satisfy diehard fans. Directed with journeyman efficiency by first-timer Mark Molloy and written by a committee that...

A renegade cop who refuses to play by the rules or pay any mind to the ungodly amount of collateral damage he causes in the name of saving Los Angeles from its own systemic rot, Axel Foley makes so much sense as the hero of a Netflix movie that it’s hard to believe the company didn’t invent him itself. Maybe that helps to explain why “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” feels sturdier and more self-possessed than your average straight-to-streaming legacy sequel, including Eddie Murphy’s own “Coming 2 America.” Here is a story of — and about — the diminished but enduring power of a classic brand in modern Hollywood (or at least the greater Hollywood area), and the moral of that story boils down to a simple idea: Familiarity is such a powerful force that it can inspire people to forgive pretty much anything.

CinemaBlind’s Review – 80%
If you are shocked by the rating we gave Netflix’s upcoming action-comedy sequel to the 40-year-old franchise Beverly Hills Cop franchise, then I am with you because I also went into watching this film with a lot of skepticism, but it kept winning me over again and again. Don’t misunderstand me when I say that this film isn’t that good if I watch it as a critique, but if you are a fan of this film franchise like I am, you can’t ask for a better sequel than this one.
Eddie Murphy returns to reprise the role of Axel Foley, which is certainly one of his most iconic roles ever, and thankfully, the film’s creators didn’t mess with him as they did with Indiana Jones in Dial of Destiny. Axel Foley is still a wise-cracking daredevil even if he is getting old,...

It’s incredibly easy to be cynical about legacy sequels after years of watching studios and streamers desperately try to squeeze every last drop of content from whatever IP they could lay their hands on, regardless of whether there’s any more story to be told or anyone interested in it being told. But watching Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, it’s incredibly hard to maintain that cynicism when Harold Faltermeyer’s iconic “Axel F” theme kicks into gear and the man it’s named for, Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy), breaks out his megawatt grin.
