‘General Hospital’ (Gh) spoilers confirm that the door is shut for Michael Easton’s return to the show as Hamilton Finn. “I think there was a finality to my exit, and there was finality for me to it, too,” Easton said about a potential return in a recent interview.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Finn May Have an Accident On His Way Home From Rehab
Finn’s stint in rehab is supposed to last only three months, but if Easton isn’t coming back, what does that mean for Finn? Unfortunately, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) may lose her dad after losing her grandpa.
It’s a harsh reality for such a sweet little girl, but the writers need to explain Finn’s exit in a way that makes sense. It would never make sense for Finn to leave Violet and never return.
Violet is enjoying her summer stay at the Quartermaine mansion.

General Hospital star Michael Easton has opened up about his time as a soap opera star. Prior to starring in Gh as Dr. Hamilton Finn, Michael has been on several other soaps, and, at times, he agreed with being fired. Was his departure from General Hospital mutual? Keep reading to see what he has to say about it.
Michael Easton Got His First Job With NBC After Acting In A Play
Fans know that Michael Easton isn’t new to acting, and he certainly isn’t new to the world of soap operas. Before appearing on General Hospital, he portrayed John McBain on One Life To Live. He also played Caleb Morley on Port Charles and had a stint on Days Of Our Lives. Michael also appeared in several primetime programs, including Ally McBeal.
That being said, his departure from Gh wasn’t the first time he’s been fired.

Michael Easton is grateful for his time on General Hospital. But the actor, whose last day on the ABC soap was June 27, has one regret over the way his character, Dr. Hamilton Finn, wrapped his time in Port Charles.
“From an acting standpoint, I would have liked to have just brought a little more subtlety and nuance to it,” he recently told Soap Hub about how his character fell off the wagon and immediately went off to rehab. “I had to get to a point very quickly.”
But, Easton added, “I was the beneficiary of a lot of really good writing and directing. I got to work with some really wonderful actors.”
On June 26, Easton revealed via social media that he was leaving the ABC sudser. Easton first joined Gh in 2012 after departing One Life to Live, where he had played John McBain since 1999. He previously starred on Port Charles and Days of Our Lives.

Michael Easton wrapped up his run as Dr. Hamilton Finn on General Hospital last week and is now opening up about his exit and how he wished he had more time to explore his character’s departure. The Daytime Emmy nominated actor starred on the long-running soap opera on and off since 2012 and played three different characters — John McBain, Silas Clay, and, most recently, Finn, who left Port Charles last week as he fell off the wagon and checked into rehab. Speaking to Soap Hub, Easton said he wished Finn’s relapse would have played out over a more extended period. “From an acting standpoint, I would have liked to have just brought a little more subtlety and nuance to it,” he said. “I had to get to a point very quickly.” On the show, Easton’s exit story began after his character’s father, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison), died,...

As announced on Wednesday (June 26), Michael Easton will be wrapping up his time on General Hospital after Thursday’s (June 27) episode, and his co-stars are feeling emotional about it. The actor revealed via his Instagram page on Wednesday that he’d be exiting the long-running soap, where he currently stars as Dr. Hamilton Finn. Easton has been with General Hospital on and off since 2012 and has played three different characters — John McBain, Silas Clay, and, most recently, Finn. While rumors had been circulating for weeks regarding Easton’s future with the show, the Emmy-nominated actor confirmed his exit yesterday, saying, “I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone, but I thought you all deserve better.” He added, “So I just want to let you know, I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital.

General Hospital has viewers wondering whether Finn (Michael Easton) is leaving the show.
Rumors have circulated about three actors leaving, and with Gregory’s (Gregory Harrison) death taking care of one of those, it seems Finn may be one too.
The alcohol situation seemingly came out of nowhere after Finn focused on his sobriety for years. Violet (Jophielle Love) has been his priority, and with Hayden (Rebecca Budig) out of the picture, she is all he has.
Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) concern has also grown. She has watched her relationship crumble, and there is no going back.
As the writers continue the storyline, it becomes more apparent the end may result in Finn’s demise.

Michael Easton is nominated for his first Daytime Emmy for playing Dr. Hamilton Finn on “General Hospital.” He introduced the character in 2016, but it’s actually the fourth character he has played on the show in six years. He previously starred on “One Life to Live” as John McBain and brought that character over to “Gh” upon “Oltl’s” cancellation. Then he played Stephen Clay (the “Port Charles” character he played from 2001-2003) and his twin brother Silas Clay. And finally Finn was created a few months after Silas was killed off. So it was a long and winding road to get Easton to the Emmys in 2018. The winners will be announced on April 29, but they’ve already been decided in the drama acting categories by blue ribbon panels that viewed sample performance reels. Watch Easton’s submission above.

Michael Easton is a Daytime Emmys pre-nominee for Best Actor for his role as Hamilton Finn on the ABC soap “General Hospital.” It’s a relatively new role, introduced in March 2016, but Easton has been a daytime staple for almost two decades. Despite his long soap-opera resume, however, he has yet to be nominated for an Emmy. Will this be his year?
Easton’s first soap opera credit was “Days of Our Lives,” where he played Tanner Scofield from 1990-1992. But he made his biggest impact in 2001 when he joined the cast of “Port Charles.” A spin-off of “Gh,” that series was taking a supernatural turn in the early 2000s, so naturally Easton’s character Caleb Morley turned out to be a vampire. But “PC” was cancelled in 2003, so Easton immediately jumped ship to fellow ABC soap opera “One Life to Live” where he played Detective John McBain for almost a decade,...
