Deadpool & Wolverine features too many fan-pleasing moments to list and Ryan Reynolds has just taken to X to share one more. We're not sure if this is a legitimate deleted scene or something created for marketing purposes, but we've no doubt you'll appreciate it.
As you can see, Hugh Jackman's Logan reels off that classic line from the comics when he says, "I'm the best there is at what I do...but what I do isn't very nice."
However, it's then we learn Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth is wearing a board with the lines on it (which the actor describes as "The Brando Method" of acting). It's a fun video and, if we're lucky, there will be more like this to come.
"I was on my way, I was just driving, and literally, just like a bolt of lightning, came this knowing deep in my gut that...

Deadpool & Wolverine continues to rake in impressive numbers at the box office in its second weekend and is poised to become the MCU’s first billion-dollar film since Spider-Man No Way Home. Fans have greatly enjoyed the titular character’s dynamic as well as the various easter eggs that have been planted throughout the film.

The film also introduced variants of Deadpool in the Deadpool Corps including Nicepool. Both Deadpool and Nicepool had a rather competitive dynamic in the film which proved to be one of its main highlights. To show his fourth wall-breaking skills, Nicepool references a beloved Ryan Reynolds rom-com which had him featuring alongside Sandra Bullock.

Can we ever get over the wild & windswept world of Yellowstone, where the ten-gallon hats brim with as much drama as the Big Sky country itself? Is there a soul under those wide-open heavens who hasn’t reckoned with the formidable specter of John Dutton? Kevin Costner embodies this Montana titan with a finesse that makes you question whether you’re witnessing a hero’s journey or a villain’s tale.

But as we all know, in addition to Costner, this cowboy hat has been donned by another actor as well. Josh Lucas, a steadfast fixture in the cinematic landscape with credits like Wonderland and the heart-racing Ford v Ferrari, also sought to lasso the role in Taylor Sheridan’s neo-western saga. After all, who wouldn’t jump at the chance to ride through the narrative pastures Sheridan has farmed?

Deadpool & Wolverine has been a whirlwind experience that continues to leave fans from all across the globe baffled for one too many reasons. While the jaw-dropping action sequences, hilarious jabs through iconic fourth-wall-breaking punchlines, and barrel-loads of unexpected cameos were one thing, what further had them engaged to the last minute was the intensity of it all.

Yet, among all the scenes, one moment in particular was truly the most intense, delivered immaculately by Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. And, ironically enough, this scene wasn’t one of those gruesome battlefield moments, but rather, the jiff before it that was so deep that fans are convinced Jackman must have hugged Ryan Reynolds after carrying out this scene.

Al Pacino got his breakout role as Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. The actor got an Oscar nomination for his compelling performance in the film. The actor reprised the role in the sequels The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Part III. While audiences still love the trilogy as a whole, they consider the first film to be the best film among the three.

Pacino got to share screen space opposite Marlon Brando who played Michael’s father, Vito Corleone. However, that combo almost didn’t happen as another bonafide actor was first attached to the role of Michael. Jack Nicholson turned down The Godfather in favor of other projects as he found them more interesting than Coppola’s film.

The stories of messy production schedules are not new in Hollywood. Over the years, many movies have seen an arduous filming process where everything goes South. Such a film was the 1996 sci-fi horror, The Island of Dr. Moreau, inspired by the H.G. Wells novel and starring Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer. From the very start, it was a cursed project that hardly went well for anybody on set.

Interestingly, The Island of Dr. Moreau‘s mess was so monumental, that an entire documentary titled Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s Island of Dr. Moreau was made to reveal everything that occurred on that cursed project. According to the reports, none of the co-stars had good working ethics with each other or the director. However, Val Kilmer has a different story to narrate as he felt that...

Russell Crowe appeared as the genius scientist Jor-El of Krypton in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Snyder’s vision for the character was entirely different from Richard Donner’s Superman, where Marlon Brando played the role. Crowe later revealed that he did the role of Superman’s birth father as a tribute to The Godfather actor.

‘General Hospital’ (Gh) spoilers tease that Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) is conflicted about what to do about what she saw in the Quartermaine living room last week.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sasha And Michael Were Once Romantically Involved
Sasha walked in to find Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) kissing.
She didn’t interrupt, but she left the scene clearly horrified. Willow is one of her oldest, closest friends, and she doesn’t want to tell Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell)….yet.
To complicate matters, Sasha and Michael were once romantically involved. But Sasha and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) pretended to cheat on their respective partners so that Willow would marry Michael to help him get custody of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver).
Once the court ruled on the custody case, Michael and Willow got an impromptu divorce and tried to reunite with their former lovers.

I was late catching up to Jeff Nichols’ “The Bikeriders,” and though the film has gotten some good reviews, like Peter Debruge’s rave in Variety, it’s fair to say that the collective response to it has been mixed to muted. “The Bikeriders” hasn’t exactly set off a chain reaction of retro biker fever. It seems as if more than a few people don’t quite know what to make of it: a drama based on Danny Lyon’s 1968 black-and-white photography book, which captured the rough-riding lives of a Chicago motorcycle gang called the Outlaws, their exploits now presented, in Nichols’ film, in all their unvarnished bad-boy grit and glory. Personally, I loved the film, and came out of it with a sense of surprise — mostly at the fact it hasn’t been more robustly celebrated. But I think I understand why.

When treading on the heels of a specific group or a community with an intense, ingrained lifestyle, photojournalism is the most unpredictable, unvarnished medium. There’s no telling how the said group will corroborate or contradict the preconceived and often stereotypical lore around them. Just like there’s no predicting the outcome and the personal implications of a band of people giving almost the entirety of themselves over to something volatile and flighty. This vulnerable rawness of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club was first captured by Danny Lyon in his photo-book that documented their greaser lifestyle between 1965 and 1973. Nicknamed the Vandals in Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders, the flock of self-deceiving rule-followers seeking freedom from the American dream bare their most melancholic softness to us practically inadvertently.

When Eddie Murphy broke out on Saturday Night Live and made his transition to the big screen, a lot of doors opened for him. The paychecks got higher, the popularity went widespread and a lot of Hollywood elite wanted to dine with him. Oddly enough, some of them didn’t have the kindest words about the profession Murphy chose, namely perhaps the greatest actor of them all, Marlon Brando.
In the wake of 48 Hrs., Eddie Murphy got wind that none other than Marlon Brando wanted to have dinner with him. Sure, Brando was on a hiatus and wouldn’t be making another movie until the tail end of the ‘80s, but that’s still a huge get. After one initial dinner, the two ended up hanging out at his famed Mulholland Drive residence, where Murphy couldn’t help but heap praise on his host. “The longer you live, I think really the smarter you get…and hopefully, as an actress, that makes you a better actress, because you can understand things better.” Words of wisdom from the fascinating and elegant Eva Marie Saint, as told to TCM’s late host Robert Osborne in an interview that first aired in 2014. This special, Eva Marie Saint: Live From the TCM Classic Film Festival, is being replayed on July 4 (10/9c), marking her 100th birthday. It’s also the first of four Thursdays celebrating her as Star of the Month, a tribute that includes 1954’s On the Waterfront (8/7c). Her first feature film role, as the sensitive Edie Doyle, won Saint an Oscar as supporting actress opposite her Actors Studio colleague Marlon Brando. “I felt that he could see right through me,” she marvels, recalling that Brando’s unpredictable line readings for each take “kept you on your toes.

Few stars have shone as bright as Elvis Presley did in the realm of music, and Marlon Brando in the world of Hollywood. Still enjoying widespread acclaim despite their legacy riddled with controversies, Presley and Brando remain beloved parts of popular culture and discourse today. Tying them together is their relationship with American actress Rita Moreno.

Robert Towne, the renowned screenwriter and filmmaker responsible for the scripts of movies like "Chinatown," "Shampoo," and "Mission: Impossible," has died. The Hollywood Reporter shared the news (confirmed by publicist Carri McClure) that the 89-year-old storyteller passed away on Monday in his home.
A singularly influential and talented craftsman, Towne was as revered for the scripts that didn't end up with his name on them as for the ones that did. In 1973, when Francis Ford Coppola won the Oscar for Best Screenplay for "The Godfather," he acknowledged Towne's contributions in his acceptance speech, saying, "Giving credit where it's due, I'd like to thank Bob Towne, who wrote the very beautiful scene between Marlon [Brando] and Al Pacino in the garden — that was Bob Towne's scene."
According to THR, other scripts he worked on without credit include Oliver Stone's "8 Million Ways To Die," Paul Schrader's "The Yakuza," Jack Nicholson's "Drive,...

Sean Penn rarely grants interviews — he and the press haven’t always gotten along, to say the least — but last week, at his home in Malibu, the venerated actor and filmmaker sat down with The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast for an in-depth conversation about his life, career and most recent project, Daddio, an indie, released last Friday, of which he is particularly proud.
Seated in a small, light-filled room that he recently re-designed himself, the walls of which are covered with photos of his late parents, his two children and himself alongside many of world figures he has encountered in his travels as an activist, Penn, sporting a shock of white hair, puffed on cigarettes, spoke softly and was far warmer than his reputation would suggest he’d be. At 63, thrice divorced and currently single, he seems to have found a measure of peace — at least when one...

Robert Towne, the screenwriter and director whose Oscar-winning work in the 1974 film Chinatown enshrined him in Hollywood history, has died at the age of 89.
Towne died at his home on Monday, his publicist Carri McClure confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
During his celebrated career, Towne wrote the Hal Ashby films The Last Detail in 1973 and 1975’s Shampoo, receiving Academy Award nominations for both. He also wrote and directed 1988 crime drama Tequila Sunrise — starring Mel Gibson, Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer — which garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography.

Eddie Murphy revealed on The New York Times’ “The Interview” podcast that Marlon Brando told him that “acting is bullshit, when Murphy’s star profile was on the rise in the wake of “48 Hrs.” Murphy was a known comedian at the time thanks to his stint on “Saturday Night Live,” but “48 Hrs.” was his first movie role and started his ascent as a film star. “Trading Places” and “Beverly Hills Cop” followed and cemented his status.
“I was having these famous people that I grew up watching on television wanting to have a meal with me,” Murphy remembered about becoming famous in Hollywood. “After ’48 Hrs.’ Marlon Brando calls my agent and wants to meet me. Now I look back and go, ‘Wow, that’s crazy: The greatest actor of all time wants to have dinner with you!’ But back then I just thought, ‘Well, that’s the way...

Eddie Murphy may have just been born uber-confident. From a young age, he knew was gonna make it and, indeed, by just 19, he was already a cast member on “Saturday Night Live.” From there, he would go on to star in comedy hits like “48 Hrs.” and “Trading Places,” which is when he started receiving recognition from his fellow thespians. A recognition he says in a recent interview with The New York Times, he didn’t quite appreciate it at the time.
“I started at maybe around 13, 14, saying that I was going to be famous,” Murphy said. “I’d tell my mother, ‘When I’m famous…’ So when I got famous, it was like, ‘See, I told you.’ I was having these famous people that I grew up watching on television wanting to have a meal with me. After ‘48 Hrs.’ Marlon Brando calls my agent and wants to meet me.

And just like that, 2024 is already half over. Crazy, isn’t it? It feels like Christmas was just a minute ago, but here we are in the middle of summertime. Before we know it, the fall festivals will open up, the awards race will begin, and people will start debating the year’s best movies.
But here’s the thing – whenever people start talking about the best movies of the year, they always neglect all of the films that came out in the first half of the year. Studios know this, which is why high-profile, prestigious movies always bow in the fourth quarter of the year. So, to give these movies a bit of a spotlight, we here at JoBlo have decided to list the 10 best movies of 2024…so far (in no particular order).

Sidney Lumet once wrote: “While the goal of all movies is to entertain, the kind of film in which I believe goes one step further. It compels the spectator to examine one facet or another of his own conscience. It stimulates thought and set the mental juices flowing. In a film career spanning 50 years, Lumet explored conscience in such classics 1957’s “12 Angry Men,” 1973’s “Serpico,” 1976’s “Network” and 1982’ s “The Verdict.”
Lumet’s New York Times 2011 obit stated: “Social issues set his mental juices flowing and his best films not only probed the consequences of prejudice, corruption and betrayal, but also celebrated individual acts of courage.” And one should also add redemption to that list. He was always in a New York state of mind. Of the 38 films he made, 29 were shot in New York. Lumet earned four Oscar nominations for best director- “12 Angry Men,” which marked his feature debut,...

About three-quarters of the way through every performance of David Adjmi’s Tony-winning play Stereophonic, two characters – Holly, the British keyboardist/vocalist (played by Juliana Canfield) and Grover, the American recording engineer (Eli Gelb) get into a debate over their favorite movies. Their favorite erotic movies, to be exact.
The setting being, as it were, a cantankerous rock & roll recording studio session circa 1976, there’s no surprise that Holly and Grover likely won’t agree, and indeed, Grover chooses Last Tango in Paris, making sure to point out that every woman he’s ever dated has had a crush on Marlon Brando.
Not so Holly. She finds Brando mean and misogynist, and much prefers the sensitive poignance of Donald Sutherland in the grief-stricken romantic thriller Don’t Look Now.
Now, Holly mentions Don’t Look Now every night, but on Friday night the words landed quite a bit differently among the...

Editor’s note: This review was originally published September 1, 2023 after the film’s world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival. The movie was originally to be released in December 2023 by 20th Century Studios before being derailed by the Hollywood strikes. Focus Features is now distributing and released it in theaters Friday.
Biker movies are almost a subgenre of films unto themselves, beginning with Marlon Brando’s The Wild One in the early ’50s and then through all those Aip exploitation titles of the ’60s including The Wild Angels, Hells Angels on Wheels and many more, notably Tom Laughlin’s predecessor to Billy Jack called Born Losers. It all culminated with Easy Rider with Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson, which became the Citizen Kane of biker cinema.

This weekend sees the release of a brand new film from an acclaimed director with an all-star cast that’s a cinematic “call-back” to a genre that’s gone Awol from the multiplexes and even the drive-ins (still enjoying a pandemic “bump) for the last few decades. And no, I’m not talking about the Western, which gallops back with Kevin Costner in the saddle next week. Well, there are a few comparisons, though these flicks began in the fifties and were an exploitation staple (a fave of the “passion pit”) into the swingin’ 70s. Going for more speed than the “oaters” were the “motorcycle gang” action epics, which have played a big role in the futuristic world of Mad Max and Furioisa. Now, this flick has those elements, but it’s more of a historical overview following some guys, and a few gals, who really thought of themselves as...

This first Hollywood studio feature with a black female director is a compelling account of a South African who turns against the ruling caste
In the late 80s, there were a number of films about apartheid South Africa that somehow made the black experience dramatically subordinate to white liberal activism. Chris Menges’s A World Apart from 1988 had Barbara Hershey as the white campaigner based on anti-apartheid activist Ruth First; the year before that, Richard Attenborough’s excruciatingly well-intentioned Cry Freedom was supposedly about the friendship between white journalist Donald Woods (Kevin Kline) and Steve Biko (Denzel Washington), but contrived to put Woods at the centre of the action, all but forgetting about Biko. Euzhan Palcy’s A Dry White Season from 1989, now released on Blu-ray, looks on the face of it to be the same sort of thing. And yet this movie is much tougher and shrewder on what...

Tom Hardy has been fielding comparisons to Marlon Brando since his launch onto the acting scene, not just for his chameleon-like craftsmanship, but for his unique approach to characterization. In the upcoming Jeff Nichols crime saga “The Bikeriders,” this comparison is cemented in cinema lore as his character, Johnny, finds inspiration while watching Brando’s performance as gang leader Johnny Strabler in “The Wild One.” Speaking to Fandango for a recent interview, Hardy said this made it a lot easier for him to draw on Brando for his own performance, but that it needed to go deeper than mimicry.
“It was very important to Jeff [Nichols] that he was focused on that moment,” Hardy said of his character watching Brando on the big screen. “So it would be foolish to not connect the dots that that was somehow an undertow, but certainly that this was a person imitating something that had come from that,...

Austin Butler is not a man to rush his words. Every line of dialogue feels like it’s preceded by a pregnant pause or a considered stare while the star rolls the words around in his mouth. This abandonment of immediacy feels well-suited for The Bikeriders, a glacial study of oil-stained Americana, sumptuously crafted by writer-director Jeff Nichols.
It’s a bold choice to stretch a tale about a gang of road-ripping reprobates over the best part of two hours. Inspired by Danny Lyon’s book of the same name, the film follows an interpretation of the author, played by a fuzzy-faced Mike Faist, as he documents the fictionalised group — known here as The Vandals — as they booze, brawl and burn rubber across their native Chicago. Central to his story is Butler’s Benny, a quiet, contemplative loyalist, and his conflict-creating relationships with quasi-father-figure Johnny and partner Kathy (Jodie Comer...

There was a time back in the 1990s when one wouldn’t find Robert De Niro doing many interviews. He supposedly didn’t like them, and felt awkward. However, today on the ‘first’ day of Tribeca’s De Niro Con, the actor’s Jackie Brown filmmaker Quentin Tarantino unlocked the method actor at the Sva Theater.
While the Q&a took place after a 35Mm print screening of Jackie Brown, how Tarantino’s process of working with the 2x Oscar winner was only one facet of their 30-minute plus dialogue.
For, what was truly racking Tarantino’s head: Why, oh, why was De Niro let go by Mike Nichols off of what would become Neil Simon’s The Goodbye Girl; the project originally known as Bogart Slept Here? It’s been just a few weeks since Johnny Wactor was murdered in downtown Los Angeles after leaving work in the early morning hours.
The former General Hospital star stumbled upon a would-be theft of his catalytic converter. Despite not putting up a fight, he was shot in the chest and killed.
As news of Johnny’s tragic death spread, his General Hospital co-stars shared tributes. The words written made it clear he was a good man with a good heart.
Unfortunately, there have been no leads in the death of Johnny. This has sparked outrage among his family members, co-workers, and friends at the hit ABC soap.
A few of them joined his family and other friends for a rally to bring more awareness to Johnny’s case and put pressure on authorities to find the person responsible for taking his life.

Chloë Sevigny and Christian Bale may be a beloved onscreen duo from “American Psycho,” but the actress says she found it “challenging” to work alongside Bale.
Sevigny, who played the secretary to Bale’s surreal serial killer Patrick Bateman, told Vanity Fair that the ensemble cast on the 2000 feature all had different acting approaches.
“I feel like there was so much build-up around ‘American Psycho,'” Sevigny recalled. “Remember Leo [DiCaprio] was attached for a minute, and then he fell out for whatever reason? I didn’t know it was going to become what it did and have the legs that it has had.”
As for working with Bale, she added, “I was trying to respect his process, which I found challenging because I’m very gregarious and silly and goofy, unbeknownst to the general public. When people take themselves so seriously, I kind of shut down, even though I take...

Overflowing with insight; stuffed with revelatory interviews and anecdotes and archival footage; as bursting with flavor as a baked ziti; and as immersive, in its way, as the show itself, “Wise Guy: David Chase and the Sopranos” is Alex Gibney’s sensationally artful and engrossing two-hour-and-40-minute documentary about the greatest show in the history of television.
If you’re a fanatic for “The Sopranos” (and who isn’t?), you probably already know a fair amount about how the show came to be, and “Wise Guy,” for a while, treads familiar ground. The film is framed as a profile of the show’s visionary creator and showrunner, David Chase (the opening credits redo the driving-into-Jersey “Sopranos” credits with Chase in the passenger seat), who is interviewed by Gibney on an exact mock-up of the set of Dr. Melfi’s psychiatrist office, a joke/stunt that recedes into the background yet never loses its playful resonance,...

Chloë Sevigny and Josh Lucas are looking back at working with Christian Bale in American Psycho.
The film, released in 2000, starred Bale as an investment banker by day but a serial killer by night. With Bale known for abiding by a Method acting process, Lucas and Sevigny recalled being intimidated by the actor.
“I don’t know if you felt this way, but I actually truly remember thinking that Christian Bale was terrible,” Lucas said in a conversation with Sevigny for Vanity Fair.
“I remember the first scene I did with him, I watched him and he seemed so false — and I now realize that it was this just fucking brilliant choice that he was making. That was an actor who was at such a completely different level already, and that he was capable of having these crazy layers going on in what he was doing. It’s only been a few weeks since news of Johnny Wactor’s death was made public.
The former General Hospital star and fan favorite was murdered after walking to his car following a bartending shift in downtown Los Angeles.
It shocked those who knew and loved him, especially his General Hospital colleagues.
Immediately, tributes began to pour in about Johnny and the kind of man he was. Sofia Mattsson was one of the first to post about it.
She plays Sasha on the hit ABC soap, and the two were romantically paired when he was still on Gh. They were married and had just lost their son, Liam, before Heather (Alley Mills) killed him off on the show.
Sofia attended the 51st Daytime Emmys, where she talked about her friendship with Johnny and how shooting with him was comfortable and fun.

There are very few actors like Al Pacino in the movie landscape. Memorable in every role, he has that animal magnetism to him that makes his every part unforgettable, and his performances in criminal dramas throughout the decades have largely defined the genre for years to come. Al Pacino is a giant in his own right, no doubt.
But back in the day, it was a whole different giant, arguably, an even bigger one, whose mere presence next to him was “unnerving” for Al Pacino. Who was it?
Al Pacino’s The Godfather Role Was a Risk
Francis Ford Coppola’s most iconic movie trilogy, The Godfather, saw Al Pacino play the part of Michael Corleone, the mafia boss’s son. When he was offered the gig, the young actor couldn’t believe it: he was barely a rookie at the time, only having played in a few plays before.

The 51st Daytime Emmys brought fashion and wins to the stage.
CBS hosted the event, allowing it to be televised live for viewers to revel in what their favorite soap stars were wearing and what they were doing.
The nominations this year were all over the board, and while we had our predictions, we weren’t sure who would actually take home the coveted awards.
In a year affected by writers’ strikes, scribes wrote some of the material the actors worked with and did a good job making it their own.
While there are varying opinions about who won each category, only one can take home the statue.
Here’s which soaps won each category tailored to the genre.
Who won a Daytime Emmy?
Some categories didn’t offer an actor or actress for a particular soap. But without further do, here is a list of winners in the soap-centric categories.

In films, the leading actor is often referred to as the figure with the majority of screen time, and in most cases, they’re the one who gets the shot at the Best Actor accolade in major Award events. But there have been instances when this wasn’t the case.
Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs
For example, Anthony Hopkins won the Oscar for Best Actor for playing everyone’s favorite cannibal in The Silence of the Lambs, even though he appeared onscreen for a mere 24 minutes. However, in The Godfather‘s case, Marlon Brando nabbed the nod for Best Actor at the Oscars, even though Al Pacino fit that bracket on paper.
Ethan Hawke also found himself on a similar boat after starring opposite Denzel Washington in the 2001 crime thriller Training Day, which earned the latter an Oscar for Best Actor.

Marlon Brando is probably best known for portraying the role of Don Vito Corleone in the 1972 film The Godfather. After starring alongside Al Pacino in the ’72 film, Brando starred alongside Robert De Niro in the 2001 film titled The Score.

However, filming for The Score was easier said than done. With inflated egos and a director who was marking his debut in drama films, Brando and director Frank Oz did not get along at all on the sets of the 2001 film! It was Robert De Niro who had to become the middleman for both of them while the filming took place.

Hollywood is filled to the brim with all kinds of movies. Some you never want to forget because of how good they are and some you just can’t forget because of how bad they were. Val Kilmer’s The Island of Dr. Moreau falls in the latter category. The film was supposed to be directed by Richard Stanley, but after a series of problems arose at production, the filmmaker was asked to leave by New Line Cinema. John Frankenheimer brought the film to the finish line but to no avail.

Not only did The Island of Dr. Moreau bomb at the box office, but it was also heavily criticized by both critics and the audience. However, not everything was bad about the film. For example, Val Kilmer was extremely grateful for working with the late Marlon Brando and has a heartwarming...

Certain films become permanently carved as classics, those that make cinematic history, and Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather is one such masterpiece. From its unforgettable rendition of the mafia to the entrancing performances of Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, the 1972 gangster film is perhaps one of Hollywood’s greatest pride.

Over 50 years later, however, the long-standing debate about whether Pacino beat the game or Brando, holds just as much weight even today. And it looks like it might not get settled anytime soon.
The Pervasive Debate Stemming From The Godfather
While The Godfather may not be Francis Ford Coppola’s most treasured creation of his, it is nevertheless one of his most showstopping films ever. And thanks to the gripping character portrayals by industry titans like Al Pacino and Marlon Brando, it was worshipped by critics and fans alike (via IMDb).

In the entertainment industry where strong personalities and artistic visions can sometimes clash, Val Kilmer has repeatedly gained the reputation of Mr. Unpopular, for his eccentric behavior and on-set shenanigans. However, despite his infamous reputation echoing through Hollywood, Kilmer called out another legendary actor for his riotous temperament.

As we just got an extensive look at Concord at the start of today’s State of Play, the first-ever game made by Sony’s newly acquired Firewalk Studios, many fans have already pointed out the game’s similarities with Overwatch 2.
Despite the game’s pretty visuals and quirky characters, at its core, it is still another hero shooter that the gaming community isn’t too keen on. There are noticeably cool aspects to what was shown, but ultimately, many feel that Sony may have dropped the ball with this one.

A new episode of The Black Sheep video series has arrived online this morning, and with this one we’re looking back at one of the most fascinating “doomed productions” ever, the 1996 version of The Island of Dr. Moreau. (Watch the movie Here.) To find out why we think this one deserves more love than it gets, check out the video embedded above!

A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to support the family of late “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor earned more than $50,000 in donations in its first 24 hours. The campaign was started by Wactor’s godmother, Michaelle Kinard, after the actor was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles on May 25. Wactor was 37 years old. The crowdfunding goal is set at $100,000 and has exceeded $83,900 from 800 donations and counting.
“On May 25, my dearest and best friend’s son was murdered. He was the victim of the most senseless crime,” Kinard wrote on the GoFundMe campaign’s page. “Johnny Wactor, (known to many as Brando Corbin on ‘General Hospital’), was living his dream in L.A. Early Saturday morning, Johnny was leaving his evening job with a coworker when they came upon three guys attempting to steal his catalytic converter. Wactor, who joined the cast of General Hospital in 2020, was loved by fans. For both his role as the nice-guy garage owner and husband of Sasha Corbin.

“Thank you for your service.” The words have become a cliché, but Hollywood has tried long and hard to make them matter. The industry has produced countless films about warfare and those who died for their country (whom we remember this week). But it has had a mixed record on presenting characters suffering the after-effects of putting their lives on the line. They may have survived, but lost comrades and innocence. It is their moment, too.
World War II brought the most cinematic treatment, and one of the directors who himself served — William Wyler — later had the guts to depict the challenges soldiers faced when the fighting stopped. Vietnam was likely the most troublesome to depict, it being the one we lost. Right-winger John Wayne was up first, with “The Green Berets,” gung-ho in flavor. It wasn’t until the late ‘70s that a pair of exceptional movies focused less...
