Fitting Farewell
It's all celebration and smiles when Malik is graduating. His mother Darlene talks with her friends Robin and Sylvia. Malik comes home with his best friend Devin and we're introduced to Tiffany, his sister implied to be transgender. She's mostly a punching bag character. Cora, Mr Brown, Aunt Bam and Madea of course are in full force
Of course there are issues they all have including Darlene and her divorce from William, and other cats come out of the bag. But when that happens, Madea is right there with her homespun, quirky ol;d school wisdom and manner that seems to set everything right
This is a fitting farewell play to the Madea character and the legacy he's built. I've had issues with his writing and some of the things he portrays as negative, but we can't deny the power of his writing style and bringing characters to life and defined in such a way that they leap off the screen and into our living rooms
I enjoyed it highly, I hope you will too
