We have some more Deadpool and Wolverine concept art for you to take a look at, this time spotlighting final and early designs for Blade (Wesley Snipes).
John Staub has shared some artwork that's very close to the character's live-action look, while Rodney Fuentebella's art features an alternate design for The Daywalker.
"I wanted to go for a more worn Blade that has seen and done a lot of things to survive," the artist writes.
Will we see Snipes as Blade in the MCU again? Marhershala Ali is set to play the vampiric hero in the upcoming reboot, but Ryan Reynolds has been campaigning for this original take on the character to get a "Logan-like send-off" and given how well his appearance in the movie went over with fans, we'd say at least one more movie might be on the cards.

Let's f*cikng go!
We knew Deadpool and Wolverine was well on its way to hitting $1 billion, and Marvel Studios' first R-rated movie has now officially passed that huge global box office milestone.
After taking in $495 million domestically along with $535 million from international markets, the Shawn Levy-directed superhero team-up has amassed $1.03 billion worldwide, which means it's now just days away from passing Joker’s $1.06 billion haul to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in history.
This also makes Deadpool and Wolverine the second highest-grossing movie of 2024 after Disney's Inside Out 2, and the first MCU instalment to hit $1 billion since Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Marvel Studios has not been having the easiest time of things recently, with its last few movies underperforming (The Marvels actually ended up being the studio's lowest-grossing film) amid mixed/negative reviews. If there wasn't already plans in place to have Logan (Hugh Jackman) and the...

Deadpool and Wolverine has been dominating the box office since it opened late last month, and it well on its way to passing the $1 billion global milestone. However, it is set to face its first real competition this weekend when It Ends With Us arrives in theaters.
The romantic drama - which stars Ryan Reynolds' other half Blake Lively - took in a very impressive $7 million in Thursday previews, and updated estimates indicate that it will open to $23 million over the Aug. 9-11 weekend, while exhibitors think it could go as high as $40 million based on presales - enough to (potentially) knock Marvel Studios' R-rated team-up movie off the top spot.
Of course, Lively also has a small role in Deadpool and Wolverine as Ladypool, so it's win-win for her!
During a recent interview, the Gossip Girl alum admitted that there is some "friendly fire" at home about both movies...

Many awards prognosticators expected the drama categories at this year’s Emmys to feature an odd assortment of nominated titles. Consider it a perfect storm of sorts: With the ending of HBO’s Succession (which took the top prize for three of its four seasons) and AMC’s Better Call Saul (which garnered a staggering 53 nominations across its six seasons without a single win) — plus the fact that last year’s strikes forced shows like last year’s drama nominees The Last of Us, Stranger Things, The White Lotus and Yellowjackets to delay production — this year’s contenders for best drama series include only one previous nominee in The Crown, which won the prize in 2021.
While the royal drama from Netflix might be the reigning champ, it’s FX’s Shogun that stands as the strongest frontrunner — a claim it couldn’t make until the network renewed the show, forcing...

The series adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s Faithless from Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson will debut in competition as part of the Primetime & Short Cuts line up at this year’s Toronto Film Festival. Scroll down for the full list.
The series will screen on Wednesday 11th September at TIFF before hitting Svt and Arte France in 2025. Fremantle is handling international sales on the series. We shared the first look at the project and interviewed Alfredson back in February. You can check that out here.
Billed as a “searing tale of love and betrayal,” the project is a six-part TV series based on the 2000 feature Faithless, which Ingmar Bergman penned for his former partner Liv Ullmann. The original film debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and starred Lena Endre and Erland Josephson. The entire series is directed by Alfredson from scripts adapted by Norwegian writer Sara Johnsen.

Poor Nicepoool. All he wanted to do was roam the Void with his pet pooch and make new friends, and ended up being used as a human shield by "God's perfect idiot" himself.
Deadpool and Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds has shared another teaser for the movie, and while this spot isn't as spoilery as the last one, it does give us a first look at some more Wade Wilson variants, including the super-polite and far too accommodating Nicepool.
Wade may find him a bit irritating, but this fella is responsible for some of the movie's funniest moments, which - unfortunately for him - include the reveal that he is unable to regenerate like most of his fellow variants.
Check out the new promo below, along with a post from Hugh Jackman, who jokes that he's planning to return...

Now that Deadpool and Wolverine has been in theaters for a couple of weeks, Marvel Studios is letting the spoilers fly!
Director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been sharing behind-the-scenes photos for the past few days, and this latest TV spot highlights some of the biggest moments and surprises, including shots of Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and Blade (Wesley Snipes) preparing to face off against Cassandra Nova and her villainous void variants.
The teaser also features the first official footage of Logan (Jackman) pulling on his cowl alongside the Merc With a Mouth (Reynolds) right before they rush into battle against the Deadpool Corps to the strains of Madonna's "Like a Prayer".
We don't see Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) or "The Cavillrine" (Henry Cavill), but we're sure they'll be highlighted in a future spot.

Disney/Marvel Studios clearly gave Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy and star Ryan Reynolds a lot of leeway when it came to the more risqué material they were able to include in the movie, but it seems there was one joke that might have gone a little too far for a certain studio higher-up.
During an interview with Collider, Reynolds revealed that he was asked to take out one particular gag - though, frustratingly, he wouldn't reveal what it entailed.
“There was a note about this one line, and I’ll say this, which is that I was asked to take the line out. I was not even mandated to take the line out. To quote someone in a very high position of leadership at Disney, ‘I’m in for a penny, I’m in for a pound. And if you take it out, I’d love it. If you don’t,...

Jonathan Pryce was more than ready to portray Prince Philip when the call came five years ago for him to embody Queen Elizabeth’s consort in the Netflix drama hit The Crown.
“He’s someone I’ve lived with all my life,” he says.
From a distance, of course.
“He’s been part of my life, part of all our lives, since 1953, when I watched the Queen’s Coronation aged six,” he says. His family, in Carmel in Flintshire, North Wales, was one of the first on their street to have a television set.
Those memories were summoned once the call came, seven decades later, to play the man, who in public at least, was always seen walking behind his sovereign; hands clasped in the small of his back, his anointed spouse’s “strength and stay.”
Once Pryce burrowed into the whopping reams of background “the size of a book,...

Logan fans never thought they'd get to see Dafne Keen back as Laura/X-23 following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, but The Acolyte actress made her long-awaited return as the ferocious young mutant in Deadpool and Wolverine, making a big impression in a small, but significant supporting role.
Laura was reunited with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) at the end of the movie, leaving the door open for Keen to reprise the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe down the line. Could she appear in one of the upcoming Avengers films?
The question was put to Keen during an interview with Phase Zero, and while she wasn't about to confirm or deny anything - assuming she even knows what's in store for her character - she is very excited at the prospect of getting to play the hero again.
"I would love to come back. I would pay them to come back.

To date, only three programs throughout TV history have swept the top seven Primetime Emmys categories for series, lead actor, lead actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, writing and directing. Miniseries “Angels in America” was the first to do so in 2004, followed by comedy “Schitt’s Creek” in 2020, and then drama “The Crown” in 2021. At the upcoming 2024 Emmys, “The Bear” is hoping to join this esteemed list — and it’s all thanks to a savvy category switcheroo.
Last year, the FX dramedy about a Chicago beef restaurant claimed six of the top seven prizes for its first season: comedy series, lead actor Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, supporting actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, supporting actress Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, and both writing and directing for Christopher Storer. “The Bear” was not eligible in the lead actress category, so it couldn’t win there and complete the sweep.

It seems Deadpool and Wolverine was originally going to feature a Fastball Special... kinda!
X-Men comics fans will no doubt be aware of this battle move, which usually involves Wolverine being launched at some bad guys by Colossus. Now, Ryan Reynolds has shared some behind-the-scenes footage of a very different take on the Fbs that didn't make the theatrical cut of the movie.
Instead of Logan being flung into battle, the scene sees Hugh Jackman's clawed mutant and the Merc With a Mouth (Reynolds) flinging one of Cassandra Nova's goons (possibly a Toad variant?) into the air before making their way inside Giant Man's skull to confront the powerful villain.
Not so much a Fastball Special as... Deadpool and Wolverine throwing some dude, but the homage is appreciated!

Due to the sheer amount of rumors that did the rounds online in the build-up to the movie's release, there was some concern that Deadpool and Wolverine was going to be a "cameo-fest."
While a few surprise characters did show up, most of them actually turned out to have minor supporting roles, and their involvement directly tied into the movie's themes of finding redemption via second chances and the importance of friendship/found family.
During an interview with the New York Times, director Shawn Levy explained why they decided on Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Blade (Wesley Snipes), X-23 (Dafne Keen) and Gambit (Channing Tatum) when so many other options were available to them.
"I want to point out that if all we were going for was the 'shock and awe' moment, there were 50 other cameos we could have put in. We tried to rigorously enforce discipline in...

Channing Tatum never thought he'd get the chance to play Gambit after being cast as the Ragin' Cajun only to see his planned X-Men spin-off scrapped after Disney's takeover of 20th Century Fox, but he was given the opportunity to suit-up as the mutant hero in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Despite initially playing the character for laughs (that accent was... something), Tatum does ultimately get to break out Gambit's signature staff and charge-up the cards when he joins his fellow Resistance members to face-off against Cassandra Nova and her forces in the Void.
Now, the Fly Me To the Moon actor has shared a video of the training he put in to master Gambit's moves, while director Shawn Levy has also posted some more official stills featuring Tatum in his comic-accurate costume.

One of Deadpool and Wolverine's most talked-about sequences is the climactic battle between Logan and the Merc With a Mouth and the Deadpool Corps, as the titular duo hack and slash their way through a hundred Deadpool variants to the strains of Madonna's classic, "Like a Prayer."
It's an action-packed, exciting and very funny scene, but star Ryan Reynolds has revealed that his original idea for this moment and the accompanying song was a lot more sombre.
While speaking to Collider, Reynolds explained that he was initially planning to kill-off Colossus, the metal mutant hero Wade Wilson had struck up a friendship with over the previous two movies.
The X-Man often attempted to convince Wilson to be more heroic and clean up his vocabulary, and it seems his words were finally going to get through.

Deadpool and Wolverine continues to dominate the box office, and has now passed the $400 million mark domestically, while approaching $500 million overseas. Analysts believe the R-rated superhero team-up should pass the $1 billion milestone by this Sunday.
A very impressive feat, but the movie hasn't faced much in the way of competition thus far - and that's set to change this Friday when Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures' adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us hits theaters.
The movie, which stars Ryan Reynolds' wife and the voice of Ladypool Blake Lively, is expected to open strong, and could well knock Deadpool and Wolverine off the No. 1 spot.
Reynolds recently shared a heartfelt response to the box office numbers, thanking fans for showing up for the movie and posting some behind-the-scenes shots from all three Deadpool movies.

Deadpool and Wolverine did end up featuring a handful of surprise cameos (though most of them actually turned out to be minor supporting roles), but nothing compared to the amount of characters that were rumored in the build-up to the movie's release.

Wolverine has always been depicted as a flawed hero, and a man capable of brutal - sometimes indiscriminate - violence when his berserker rage kicks in. James Mangold's Logan found Hugh Jackman's big-screen take on the character at his lowest point, but Deadpool and Wolverine introduces a take on the X-Man that's even more difficult to root for.
In the movie, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) comes across a version of Wolverine that's a shadow of his former self while searching for a variant to replace the "Anchor Being" that died in Logan, and this guy has zero interest in being anything but a boozed-up, volatile asshole - until an encounter with Laura (Dafne Keen) sets him on a different path.
While speaking to the New York Times, director Shawn Levy explained how discussions with Jackman about reprising his iconic role led to the decision to introduce the "worst Wolverine" variant.

Elizabeth Debicki admits that she “didn’t know very much,” about Princess Diana before joining “The Crown.” In our recent webchat, she adds, “My knowledge was this very slim imprint from my childhood. I had to learn what the preconceptions were, then I had to embed them into myself, then I had to discard them. I was riddled with a lot of doubt. I had to do a lot of searching in myself to have the confidence to just go for it.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
“The Crown” chronicled the reign of Queen Elizabeth II for the Netflix series created by Peter Morgan. Every two seasons the cast reset to showcase a different time of the longest serving monarch’s life. For the final two seasons, Debicki played Princess Diana. Logan fans were hoping to see more of Dafne Keen as Wolverine's clone/daughter X-23 (sorry... Laura) after her excellent performance in James Mangold's film, but Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox left all future plans for the character on the shelf.
Fortunately, Keen got the chance to reprise the role for a long-awaited reunion with Hugh Jackman in Deadpool and Wolverine.
The movie's final trailer may have ruined the surprise, but did nothing to lessen the emotional impact, as Laura manages to convince the "worst Wolverine" variant to step up and fight alongside the Resistance.
Just as he did with the other surprise characters, Ryan Reynolds has shared some official stills of Laura as she prepares to slice and dice her way through Cassandra Nova's forces.
"When Dafne Keen shows up in #DeadpoolAndWolverine she shines her light toward the big beating heart of the movie. Dafne and...

Jennifer Garner's return as Elektra was one of the few Deadpool and Wolverine surprises to be confirmed by the trades prior to the movie's release, but it didn't make her MCU debut as the lethal former assassin any less impactful.
Along with Blade (Wesley Snipes), X-23 (Dafne Keen) and Gambit (Channing Tatum), Elektra joins Logan and the Merc With a Mouth to make a stand against Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) and her villainous variants.
Garner shared a video montage of her traning routine to get "Marvel fit" for the role last night, and Ryan Reynolds has now posted some official stills along with some kind words for his co-star, who got to suit-up as Elektra again 20 years after the character's solo movie.

Channing Tatum was officially cast as Remy Lebeau and all set to play the Ragin' Cajun when Disney's takeover of 20th Century Fox led to the solo Gambit movie being scrapped, so the actor jumped at the chance to suit-up as the mutant hero when Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy floated the idea of an appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Tatum shows up along with Wesley Snipes (Blade), Jennifer Garner (Elektra) and Dafne Keen (X-23) when Logan (Hugh Jackman) and the Merc With a Mouth (Reynolds) are stranded in the Void, and actually gets a decent amount of screen time as the makeshift Resistance face-off against Cassandra Nova's (Emma Corrin) forces.
During an interview with the New York Times, Levy spoke about working with a "visibly emotional" Tatum, and revealed that he was actually one of the filmmakers in the mix to helm the Gambit movie prior to the Disney/Fox deal.

Now, Jennifer Garner has followed suit by sharing a video of her intense training regime to get "Marvel fit" once she agreed to reprise the role of Elektra Natchios after last donning the costume 20 years ago for the character's much-maligned solo movie.

Though his involvement was rumored prior to the movie's release, one of the biggest surprises in Deadpool and Wolverine for anyone who hadn't been keeping up with the online scuttlebutt was a cameo from none other than Man of Steel star Henry Cavill as a Wolverine variant Wade Wilson refers to as "The Cavillerine."
The former Dceu actor shows up when the Merc With a Mouth is searching the Multiverse for another version of Logan he can present to the Tva as a new Anchor Being. Wade is very excited to see Cavill, and tells him that Marvel Studios will treat him much better than "those sh*tf*cks down the street."
Now, Cavill has taken to social media to share a first official still of The Cavellerine, playfully captioning his post: "To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache."

Though it was really more of a minor supporting role than a "cameo," arguably the biggest surprise character appearance was Wesley Snipes making his long-awaited return as Blade, and Ryan Reynolds has now shared our first official look at the MCU debut of the Daywalker via some new behind-the-scenes photos.
"There is no Fox Marvel Universe or MCU without Blade first creating a market," Reynolds said of Snipes' MCU debut. "He’s Marvel Daddy. Please retweet for a Logan-like send off."
Mahershala Ali is set to take over as Blade for the upcoming Marvel Studios reboot, but Reynolds would clearly like to see Snipes get the opportunity to play the character one last time.

Deadpool and Wolverine star Hugh Jackman has shared a new behind-the-scenes photo of himself fully suited-up as the iconic mutant alongside Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy.
Even if you haven't seen the movie yet, there's a good chance you've at least caught a glimpse of the cowl in the promo art that's been doing the rounds online for the past couple of months. Even so, this image counts as our first officially released shot of Jackman donning Wolverine's classic comic-accurate mask.
Logan only masks-up towards the end of the movie, but most fans seem to be more than satisfied with the respect (maybe reverence is more accurate) the moment is given.
As Wolvie and the Merc With a Mouth prepare to fight their way through the Deadpool Corps to Madonna's "Like a Prayer," we get a slow-motion shot of Jackman reaching back and pulling on the mask. He...

In Marvel’s highly anticipated crossover film Deadpool & Wolverine, Emma Corrin makes their villainous Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Cassandra Nova, killing off a beloved hero in a shocking scene. Corrin, who broke out playing Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown, takes on the formidable foe Nova – the malevolent twin sister of Professor X.
In one of the film’s most surprising moments, Nova wastes little time disposing of Chris Evans’ beloved Human Torch in his first return to a Marvel role since bidding farewell to Captain America in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Evans’ cameo in the film sparked massive buzz and excitement among fans, who packed theaters for the New York premiere. However, Corrin has said feeling a twinge of guilt after watching audiences excitedly greet Evans, only to brutally dispatch his character minutes later. “I felt terrible.
I was hiding in my seat,” Corrin told British GQ of witnessing fan reactions.

The Marvel blockbuster “Deadpool & Wolverine” has thrilled audiences with surprise guest appearances from classic characters. Chief among these is a brief but impactful return from Chris Evans as Human Torch, delighting longtime fans of the actor and the iconic role.
Evans, best known for portraying Captain America in several hugely successful Marvel films, reprised his role as Johnny Storm from the 2005 “Fantastic Four” movie in a cameo that packed an emotional punch. Deadpool was revealed to be pansexual - which is defined as being attracted to people of any gender or to people regardless of their gender - in the comics over a decade ago, but there's been some debate about whether his sexual orientation carried over to Ryan Reynolds' big-screen take on the character.
Though Deadpool 1 and 2 dropped several hints (some more subtle than others) that Wade Wilson may have had - or at least be open to having - sexual relationships with other men, Deadpool and Wolverine leaves very little doubt.
The Merc With a Mouth makes numerous comments, jokes and references to and about his sexuality throughout the movie, but the most blatant example is when some male and female Tva agents knock on his door, and he clearly has zero hesitation about having a full-on orgy with what he initially believes to be a group of prostitutes hired...

"There's only been one Blade. Only ever gonna be one Blade."
It seems Wesley Snipes may have taken this line from Deadpool and Wolverine a little more serioulsy than it was intended!
When Logan (Hugh Jackman) and the Merc With a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) are banished to the Void by Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), they discover that a group of Multiverse Variants have joined forces to make a stand against Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin).
Joining Elektra (Jennifer Garner), X-23 (Dafne Keen) and Channing Tatum as Gambit is none other than Blade, played once again by Snipes.

In most cases, we only know so much about the people behind our favorite movies and TV shows. We know a few lead and supporting stars by name; we could probably spell the names of directors or showrunners without too many mistakes; and sometimes, the person who penned the script also gets a little recognition.
But every major production involves hundreds if not thousands of people, most of them going completely underappreciated. It doesn’t take a genius to thank George Martin for making House of the Dragon possible, for one — but do you know all the others who wrote their brains and fingers off to deliver the Targaryen spin-off?
Who Wrote House of the Dragon, in General?
Despite having already mentioned him, we can’t start the discussion of “who wrote HotD” without paying our respect to George Martin first. The celebrated author wrote the novel Fire & Blood, on...

Director Ti West's conclusion to the "X" trilogy is coming home. West and star Mia Goth rounded out their decades-spanning horror trilogy this year with "MaXXXine," picking up a little while after "X" left off ("Pearl" was a prequel). The film brings the action to the '80s with Goth's Maxine Minx trying to fulfill her dream of becoming a star, and naturally, things get bloody along the way. For those who may have missed the retro, murderous trip through Hollywood, fear not! You can now watch the film from the comfort of home.
A24 has released "MaXXXine" on VOD following its successful run at the box office. The movie is now available through a variety of digital retailers such as Apple TV, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and Prime Video, among others. It is currently available to rent...

A studio is to open at the University of Hertfordshire, with the aim of creating a space for student training, as well as being hireable for film and TV productions.
The Propeller Stage One project will offer a working, commercial film studio for independent production companies to hire at a significantly reduced rate if opportunities for students studying at the university are facilitated.
The studio aims to help address the UK’s skills gap, with an additional 21,000 full-time jobs required in the creative and screen industry by 2025 according to the BFI Skills Review, through building expertise in production design, set build,...

We're sure the majority of you have seen Deadpool and Wolverine at this stage, but just in case, be warned of major spoilers from this point on.
One of them turns out to be none other than Blade, played once again by Wesley Snipes.
Now, Guinness World Records has announced that Snipes holds the record for longest career as a live action Marvel character, narrowly beating Hugh Jackman. Funnily enough, Jackman's return for Deadpool and Wolverine meant he technically held the record – right up until Snipes appeared on screen!
Jackman has been playing Logan for 24 years, while Snipes made his debut as the Daywalker 26 years ago. Of course,...

Actor Helena Bonham Carter worked with her ex-husband Tim Burton on a number of films. But there was one movie where Burton wasn’t too keen on casting his former spouse like he did for other features.
Tim Burton wanted to work with actors other than Helena Bonham Carter for ‘Dark Shadows’ Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter | Mike Marsland/WireImage
Burton and Carter collaborated frequently after meeting each other for Planet of the Apes. The 2001 sci-fi feature not only started the tradition of the pair working together. It also sparked a long relationship between the two. Some of the films they worked on since getting together were Sweeney Todd and Corpse Bride.
But 2012’s Dark Shadow was a feature that Burton was initially against casting Carter in. The movie was a more contemporary take on the television series of the same name, which Burton grew up a fan of.

Deadpool and Wolverine leaks have been doing the rounds for a while at this stage, and there are actually some decent quality screenshots/clips out there - some of which director Shawn Levy has been sharing via social media.
The filmmaker's latest post highlights a scene from early on in the movie, when Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is searching the Multiverse for a Wolverine Variant and comes upon Logan in his brown costume just as he's about to do battle with The Hulk.
We don't actually get to see them fight, but there's an awesome shot of Logan unsheathing his claws with the Green Goliath reflected in the adamantium blades. Levy shared this image, confirming that this moment is indeed a nod to the cover of The Incredible Hulk #340.
Rumors claimed that this was going to be both Eric Bana and Ed Norton's versions of the Hulk, but although...
