James Klausmeier, esteemed Civil Engineer, businessperson, Sagamore of the Wabash, Kentucky Colonel, mentor, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on the sunny morning of July 7.
Jim was a founding partner of an engineering firm that worked on projects that made Indianapolis a better city. If you have safely travelled the 465 loop, walked the Cultural Trail, attended a game at Gainbridge, or if you participated in the festivities before the Super Bowl in downtown Indy, you have felt his influence. He was a mentor for many of the current civil engineers in our city today.
After retirement, he could be found on the golf course, working out at Rock Steady Boxing and writing hilarious poetry and puns about family members.
His is survived by Linda, his wife of 63 years, his proud daughters Kathy Klausmeier-Brown (Martin) and Julie Beyers (Doug), and the three grandchildren to whom he was devoted Andy and Meghan Brown, and Katie Black (Eric).
On July 19 from 5-7pm, there will be a Remembrance Open House at the Barrington of Carmel, 1335 S. Guilford Ave.
You may also honor Jim with a contribution to the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Foundation or Rock Steady Boxing.
