Michael Roy Shaffer, 74, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on July 10th, 2024 at his son’s home in Indianapolis.

Mike was born in Indianapolis to Reginald (Bill) Shaffer and Bettie Lou Shaffer on July 6th 1950. He went to school at Franklin Central, in Franklin Township, in Marion County. He was married to Kathy Joan Shaffer on February 8th 1975. Mike retired from the City of Indianapolis, he also supported his son in various businesses after retirement as well as owning his own establishment prior to working with the City.

Mike served in the Army in the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church and the Acton Masonic Lodge. Mike also served on the Franklin Township board for 16 years.

Mike is survived by Kathy Shaffer (wife), Brad Shaffer (son), Morgan, Lillian, Raegan and Vivian Shaffer (granddaughters).

Visitation will be at Little and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday July 17th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am (10:00am visitation) on July 18th at Indian Creek Christian Church (6430 S. Franklin Road). Burial will follow at Acton Cemetery (7900 S Acton Road)

Memorials or gifts may be given to Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The Shaffer family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the VA’s Doctors and Nurses as well as Anew Hospice Care for their remarkable care and support they gave us.
