SPOKANE, Wash. - A beloved member of the Spokane music community has died just days after he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Now, the community is working to support the family he left behind.

Quindrey "Drey" Davis has been a part of the Spokane Jazz Orchestra since 2021. Davis was feeling sick for almost a year before getting informed he had Leukemia, according to a GoFundMe post. He died a few days later.

As a way to share his love of music, Davis taught private music lessons at Northwest Christian School. He made his debut in the Spokane Jazz Orchestra during the 2021 Christmas Concert, where he "left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of hearing him play," James Lucas said in Davis's obituary.

Davis took on numerous music gigs to support his family, which includes his wife, son and daughter who is due in ten weeks.

"Drey’s spirit and talent will forever resonate in the notes of jazz, reminding us of the beauty and fragility of life," said Lucas.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family and medical expenses. If you would like to donate, visit the GoFundMe page.
