Barbara (Aline) Grimes – age 90, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alta Bell; husband, Homer Grimes; son, Jerry Grimes; daughter, Patsy Simcox; brothers, Wade and Earl Bell; sisters, Katherine Vangilder and Argel Holland and dear friend Karl Stamper.
Survived by daughter, Nancy (Mike) Knox; sons, Elmer (Pam) Grimes, Steve (Teresa) Grimes; son-in-law, Harold (Janice) Simcox; sister, Marie Snyder; brother, Burkett Bell; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church where she served our Lord Jesus Christ with great love and kindness. She will especially be remembered for her famous hot tamales.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 with a 7:00 service to follow at Alice Bell Baptist Church. Graveside services at New Gray Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Friends and family will meet at 10:45 at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alice Bell Baptist Church Building Fund, 3305 Alice Bell Rd. Knoxville, TN 37917.
