Rheta Louise Rimmer, 85, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Rheta enjoyed listening to gospel music and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Turner Rimmer; parents, James and Jerushia Henderlight; brother, James “Bud” Thomas Henderlight, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Pat Rimmer; brother-in-law, Roy Allen; and niece, Lisa Stanley.
Rheta is survived by her children, Robert “Bobby” T. Rimmer, Jr. (Dona), Richard “Rick” W. Rimmer (Jobina), Robin Bright (Sidney); grandchildren, Tyler Bright (Cameron), Caleb Bright (Kelly), Jakob and Lauren Rimmer; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Bright; sister, Arzelia Allen; nephew, Bill Rimmer; nieces, Anna Montgomery, and Betty Merritt; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, July 15th with the Funeral Service to follow at 7 PM at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel, 122 Peacock Ct., Seymour, TN 37865. The Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, July 16th in Highland Memorial Park, 9010 E Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com.
