It is inevitable that for most plans to achieve a desired outcome there will be a need for colleagues in other professions to implement the planning such as economic development and/or housing development professionals, community development experts, public infrastructure engineers, etc. There is value to including such partners in the planning process from the outset to gather intelligence and insight from their perspective was what may or may not work with the plan and what may be an asset or an impediment to achieve the desired outcome. Indeed, a real advantaged in involving them from the start is to avoid not taking into account unintended consequences which could result in stifling any success in achieving the desired outcome.
