As Chicagoans, we believe a win for one is a win for all. 🏆 In the tech community, we talk a lot about deepening the technical talent mesh network to create opportunities for leaders to move across firms as they grow their careers and as we grow our capacity in Chicago. I’m seeing 👀 come to life in Chicago’s tech non-profit community. A powerhouse of talent, innovation, and dedication. The density of skilled and passionate leaders within our community is truly remarkable. But with great talent comes great opportunity – the opportunity to create robust career pathing for junior professionals across our institutions. By leveraging our collective expertise, networks, and resources, we are establishing seamless career pathways that retain top talent within our city and foster a new generation of tech leaders. And the best news is, this is happening organically without having to have a committee or a work plan to make it so. Just in the last several weeks, Billy Ndizeye joined team 1871 from World Business Chicago Abin Kuriakose, Jonathan Goodell from team 1871 joined Current led by Alaina Harkness, and in the next few days Arantxa Valverde from team 1871 is joining WBC Elle Ramel. For those of you doing the math, team 1871 is down 1 but not to worry, plans are in the works 😉 Each of our organizations works together and these transitions create the opportunity to strengthen those bonds and pathways. Leaders can move laterally or up, and shift around from team to team creating the next generation of well-rounded, civic-focused, well-trained, leaders who can one day be the next CEO’s of organizations like 1871. Let's harness the power of our collective talent to drive innovation and create lasting impact.
