The results are in! With 59% of the vote, it appears that a majority of companies are currently offering three weeks or more of PTO to new hires. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a troubling 12% of respondents come from businesses that provide less than two weeks for new employees. With work/life balance progressively moving up the priority list for U.S. workers, organizations that remain competitive on PTO are likely to have significantly higher acceptance rates at offer stage. If you find your company in the 12% category, it’s time to revisit those policies with the appropriate authorities and bump the PTO up to remain in line with the market. #poll #pto #timeoff #entrylevel #ptopolicy #worklifebalance #jobsearch #hiring #newhire #recruiting

The results are in! The overwhelming majority of respondents (66%) consider their direct manager or supervisor to have the most significant influence on their desire to remain at their current company. This underscores the crucial role that direct managers play in employee satisfaction and retention. Effective management, support, and communication from direct supervisors are likely key factors that contribute to an employee's positive experience and commitment to the organization. Given the impact of direct managers, companies should invest in leadership development programs to ensure managers have the skills needed to effectively lead and support their teams. Providing managers with the necessary resources, tools, and autonomy can enhance their ability to support their teams. This includes training in conflict resolution, performance management, and emotional intelligence. #poll #managers #directmanager #jobsearch #hiring #newhire #recruiting

The salary transparency law has forced companies to list a defined budget range on any public job posting, including both an upper and lower limit. What, if any, impact do those ranges have on a candidate's expectations around a prospective offer? Let's find out in this week's edition of #SurveyMondays Follow Advice Personnel to see the final results posted next week!

The results are in! A whopping 70% of respondents prefer to have AT LEAST two formal performance review conversations throughout the year, with a majority preferring a semi-annual cycle. If your company is still operating under the more traditional “one per year” setup, it might be time to make some changes! While some might argue that more is better, you don’t want to overcorrect and risk turning off the 30% of employees who like the current setup. Therefore, consider implementing a hybrid approach where formal reviews occur semi-annually, supplemented by informal check-ins quarterly. This increase in communication should result in a higher rate of goal attainment and overall motivation, which in turn will improve employee satisfaction (and retention) across your team. #poll #growth #careergrowth #review #performancereview #reviews #goals #careergoals #yearendgoals

The results are in! A significant portion (44%) of respondents feel they are behind their professional goals. This highlights a common challenge in goal attainment, potentially due to unrealistic goal-setting, external obstacles, or inadequate resources and support. In contrast, 42% of respondents feel they are either ahead of schedule (9%) or right on pace (33%). This indicates that a substantial minority is effectively managing their goals, suggesting successful strategies, good time management, and efficient resource utilization. The fact that the largest segment feels behind suggests an opportunity for interventions like training on goal-setting, time management, and resource allocation. Organizations might consider workshops or mentorship programs to support employees in meeting their professional objectives. #poll #growth #careergrowth #motivation #goals #careergoals #yearendgoals

The results are in! It’s likely not going to surprise you that the highest percentage of respondents most associate growth with compensation. What should be much more eye-opening is how close that response was to the second place answer, “More Influence with Decisions”. This is refreshing news for managers and executives at companies that can’t always compete on compensation alone. In those environments, it can be just as impactful on retention to get key employees involved in the decision-making process. Bring them into meetings, encourage their input and show them that you value their contributions and envision them playing a bigger role in the company going forward. While it’s certainly important to stay competitive with market compensation, these survey results demonstrate that there are several other factors that can have a significant influence on your top employees without breaking the bank. #poll #salary #payraise #growth #careergrowth #motivation #motivatiors
