Position summary: In this role, your primary responsibility as a Journeyman Computer User Support Specialist is ticket processing and resolution management, including detailed and clear documentation of the problems and the actions taken to resolve them. Customer service is key to this position. You will provide on-site technical assistance to computer users by answering questions to resolve computer problems for the end user. Typical assistance concerns the use of computer hardware and software, printing, installation, word processing, email, and operating systems. This position is located onsite at our Client Regional Office Building located at 50 United Nations Plaza 4th FLR., Room 4484, San Francisco, CA. 94102. Public Trust Clearance (or ability to obtain) and travel may be required within a 50 mile radius.

The team at AI-Vets recently developed a demonstration application in partnership with FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). The app will improve alerting authorities’ communications during public safety emergency events. AI-Vets is proud to work alongside FEMA to bring innovations to the national Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) system as we work to keep more people safe in times of emergency. Through stakeholder engagement, we incorporated critical features in WEA alerting authority communications, such as real-time alert monitoring, display of previous warnings, and streamlining alert monitoring to make alerts more actionable in local communities. We salute the many federal agencies working to protect our communities and create a more sustainable future: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) helps communities prepare for the impacts of climate change, such as sea level rise and extreme weather events. The Department of the Interior (DOI) protects forests and other natural ecosystems, which play a vital role in absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The Department of Energy (DOE) invests in research and development of new clean energy technologies, such as solar and wind power. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and vehicles. These projects make a difference. This Veterans Day, AmeriinfoVets honors and celebrates the brave men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces. We owe so much to America’s veterans for their courage, dedication, and service to our country. We honor the fallen, and we commit to serving veterans and active duty service members who inspire us every day. At AI-Vets, providing tech innovations to solve our nation’s most challenging problems is our driving force. We work on critical projects for several agencies that serve veterans, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Indian Health Service. When we founded AI-Vets, service to our country was at the forefront. As a service-disabled vet and current Command Sergeant Major of the National Guard’s 120th Engineer Battalion, veterans continue to be in my heart, and at the center of our organization’s mission.
