Incredible work!
During a satellite session at #AIDS2024, we witnessed the power of social enterprises in promoting economic independence and inclusivity within key populations. Four key population-led social enterprises shared valuable insights into overcoming funding challenges and fostering sustainable growth. The session underscored the urgent need for diverse funding mechanisms and support systems tailored to the unique needs of LGBTQ+ and HIV-positive communities and the importance of community-led entrepreneurship in driving long-term development and equality. Manisha Dhakal, Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society, was one of the speakers praised during the session, not only for her social enterprise successes but also for being awarded the Elizabeth Tailor Human Rights Award, supported by the International AIDS Society and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.
