We were proud to participate in the 2024 CEO Challenge! After raising more than $30,000 for ALS United Rhode Island so far, several of our employees had the opportunity to soak our CEO, Ted Shallcross. Thank you to all of our Team Amica members for raising money for a great cause! #AmicaCommunity #CEOChallenge
About us
When you look at Amica, you’ll see we’re different. We’re a mutual company, which means we serve policyholders, not stockholders. Our culture is built on kindness and mutual respect that’s reflected in how we treat our customers and support our people. We offer fair compensation, comprehensive medical coverage, and generous extras like reimbursement for gym fees and student loan repayment assistance. We see the workplace as a place of belonging, where individual differences are acknowledged, unique views are recognized, and employees can be themselves at a company committed to doing the right thing. Amica is the longest-standing mutual insurer of automobiles in the U.S.; we also offer home, life, marine and umbrella insurance, as well as annuities. We’re a direct writer, which means Amica customers deal directly with our employees who provide a responsive and personal experience. Our mission is to create peace of mind and build enduring relationships, and it shows in every aspect of our company, culture and celebrated reputation for service.

Nearly 30 employees from our Corporate Information Systems department recently volunteered with Franklin Farm in Cumberland, Rhode Island! Through this historic farm’s community garden, volunteers can help tend, weed, pick and box vegetables that will go to the Northern RI Food Pantry and help those facing food insecurity. #AmicaCommunity

We routinely host impactful discussions that provide different perspectives and experiences to our employees. Recently, Doug Fingliss and Maurice Lowman came to our corporate headquarters to share stories and experiences of how they’ve used running and community to recover from substance abuse. It was inspiring to hear their passion about the subject, and we're thankful they were able to join us!

Some of our employees are fully remote, but that doesn’t mean they don’t ever connect with their co-workers in person. Several remote employees from the Seattle area recently joined Team Amica members from the Oregon Regional Office for a volunteer day with Pasado’s Safe Haven, helping to take care of animals at their sanctuary. #AmicaCommunity #TeamAmica
