Following last year’s successful golf outing, Ares Network of Empowered Women (ANEW) organized another event in London—this time, clay pigeon shooting at Holland & Holland! ANEW brought together 40 women from across Ares and external firms to connect over this unique activity and enjoy a sunny day of networking with women in the industry. Thanks to all who joined us. We look forward to another exciting event next year.

What we commonly call acoustic feedback, the "Larsen Effect" is the squealing sound caused by a microphone, amplifier and speaker being in close proximity. Financial markets can experience something similar. In the latest In the Gaps newsletter, the Alternative Credit team dug into instances of the Larsen Effect happening in markets targeted by certain institutional investors. They also answer some FAQs about the asset-based credit market and its key sectors. More in the full newsletter below. Has direct lending become too big? While the global AUM of private debt is often cited at $1.7 trillion, that represents only ~27% of the global AUM in private equity. It is similar for dry powder, where private debt dry powder is ~22% of the private equity dry powder. We believe this means there is still significant room for growth in the private debt space. More on the scale of direct lending in our recent report—Understanding Private Credit: The History and Current State of the Asset Class—here: https://lnkd.in/eiZX9Rc8 Please see associated disclosures in the presentation. #PrivateCredit
