    What a week it's been at Ascen! At the start of the week we started inviting our friends and partners to an event we're co hosting with Suky Sodhi on expanding into the USA from the UK. Yesterday, Emily Bradley and I got to go visit some old friends of mine at the Sonovate office as we look to start a long and successful partnership with them and on a personal note it was great to see my old team!     Expanding your UK recruitment agency to the US? Here are the two main strategies: "Recruit from Abroad" and "Feet on the Ground" The "Recruit from Abroad" method allows you to operate without establishing a separate legal entity. By utilizing an Employer of Record (EOR) solution and setting up a USD bank account, you can start recruiting immediately. However, be aware that building relationships and establishing your brand may be challenging without a physical presence. Alternatively, the "Feet on the Ground" model involves establishing a physical entity in a specific state. This approach often still employs an EOR solution to navigate complex US labor laws but allows you to target a niche market and build a local reputation. Interestingly, these strategies aren't mutually exclusive. Many agencies begin with remote recruitment and gradually expand their physical presence. Both methods help address US market complexities, including increased competition, geographic scale, and intricate employment laws. Your choice depends on your agency's goals and resources.
