    Congratulations to Broderick Talley on receiving the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award! Professionally, Broderick is a Cyber Security Sales Strategic Account Executive at Secureworks. Broderick has been a part of Scouting since 2011 and during that time has served several roles including Den Leader, Assistant Cubmaster, and Assistant Scoutmaster. He currently serves as the Committee Chair of Troop 374 - a unit he helped start in 2021, and is seen by the Scouts in his troop as a life coach and mentor. Broderick has also made significant contributions to his community outside of Scouting - this year he co-chaired the 100 Black Men Celebration of Excellence Scholarships Gala with over 700 guests raising over $100,000.     Congratulations to Daniel Yee on receiving the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award! Daniel Yee currently serves as the District Commissioner of the Soapstone Ridge District. Most notably, he is a Philmont Ambassador and serves as the Atlanta Area Council’s High Adventure Trek committee chair. Through this role, he has helped provide numerous Scouts - who might not have otherwise had the opportunity, the chance to experience the thrill of high adventure treks at both Philmont Scout Ranch and Florida Sea Base. Outside of Scouting, he is the co-founder of the Atlanta Area Geocachers hobby group where he has been organizing service projects since 2011 and teaching Geocaching to Scouts and other leaders. Linda joined the Atlanta Area Council in August 2022 as Executive Assistant – Director of Field Service. Linda has been a longtime volunteer in the BSA with her husband, Shawn, enjoying roles as wide as Lion parent partner to Unit Committee Chair.     Join us in recognizing a true Scouting icon! This year Ted Vinson celebrated 50 years as a Scoutmaster, impacting thousands and guiding over 200 Scouts to Eagle. He has served eight years as Camp Director at Woodruff Scout Camp and to honor his legacy, the Atlanta Area Council plans to recognize him with the Vinson Leaders’ Lounge at the new Sharp Center at Woodruff Scout Camp. Council Board President Jon Bridges - one of Ted's Eagle Scouts, has issued a substantial challenge grant, but additional support is needed. Please consider giving at https://ow.ly/MGzP50SRctN

    Congratulations to Matt Brigham on receiving the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award! Matt is the VP and Treasurer at Genuine Parts Company and has served on the Peach of an Athlete committee since 2010. During his 14 years on the committee, he has served as Sponsorship Chairman and helped raise over $4.3 million in support of Scouting. In addition to his service to the Atlanta Area Council, Matt is on the board of the American Cancer Society and has also served on the Board of Visitors for UGA.     We are pleased to announce that Bryce Knight will be joining the Atlanta Area Council as a District Executive. Bryce will be responsible for providing leadership in the areas of service to Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, and Venturing Crews. Her responsibilities include support for our youth recruiting efforts and fundraising including Friends of Scouting, the Trail’s End Popcorn sale and the Camp Card sale. One of her primary roles will be to lead the cultivation and recruitment of volunteers in the Atlanta Area Council. Bryce graduated from Auburn University in Auburn, AL with a degree in Human Development and Family Science. She has interned with Lighthouse Family Retreat where she worked with children and families battling childhood cancer. She also worked with BigHouse Foundation where she worked with volunteers to serve foster children and their families. Please join us in welcoming Bryce to the Atlanta Area Council!
