👏 Sherry Insley, a visual arts teacher at George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, has earned the Artist Travel Prize from the Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City. The $7,000 prize provides funding for travel to support an artist in exploring new influences, materials, and processes related to their studio practices.
Insley plans to use the Travel Prize to further her work documenting the emergence of “ghost forests,” which occur when storms, rising sea levels, and climate change push salt water inland causing trees to die.
