About us
The California School-Age Consortium's mission is to support and advance professionals and organizations in providing quality and accessible out-of-school time programs. We accomplish this mission through our focus on fostering professional connections, enhancing competency, and building a community of leaders. Our vision is that afterschool and school-age care programs will be a public priority throughout California. Through our leadership, out-of-school time professionals and programs will be valued — like teachers and schools — as an essential service supported by government, business and community resources.

📢 Exciting Opportunity! The California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) is launching a new certified wellness coach program and is seeking to grow a new wellness coach workforce. The HCAI is offering up to $35,000 scholarships to students in associate or bachelor’s degree programs related to wellness coaching (i.e. human services, mental health, social work, etc.). In return, recipients will have a 12-month service obligation providing wellness coaching services in California. This initiative aligns with youth development and offers a stable funding stream through Medi-Cal reimbursement. Wellness coaches will be able to provide nonclinical services to promote wellness with both groups and individuals. As this effort moves into implementation, local school districts and community-based organizations that have the ability to bill Medi-Cal will have the opportunity to hire coaches and to sustain these positions over time through Medi-Cal billing. Learn more and apply here before the June 24th deadline: https://lnkd.in/geqazWun
