Navigating small claims court simplified with SCAS. Empowering individuals through education and support.

About us

The Small Claims Advisory Service is California’s first agency dedicated only to assisting individuals in navigating the small claims court system. Our objective is to provide socioeconomically disadvantaged people with the tools they need to effectively seek legal remedy through the small claims system and to safeguard their rights as consumers, tenants, and community members. Without our assistance, these people are frequently uninformed of their possibilities and feel alone in the process. We educate citizens on California law, small claims procedure, and how to make a well-informed court presentation. The Small Claims Advisory Service (SCAS) is an independent unincorporated student organization unaffiliated with the Claremont Colleges. SCAS is a project provided by students volunteering their time to assist community members in navigating the various county small claims courts under the jurisdiction of Superior Court of California.
