Have you heard of “ubuntu”? Shola Richards, the guest speaker at our annual Advocacy Stakeholder Summit describes ubuntu as “the height of human kindness, human compassion, and human connectiveness.” Amgen is embracing ubuntu at this year’s Summit as we welcome more than 70 advocacy leaders to share insights and identify ways to better serve patients. In a rapidly changing healthcare landscape, we all have a responsibility to keep human connectiveness at the center of all we do. With this in mind, we are prioritizing topics like 1️⃣ adopting a patient-first approach in the face of the increasing integration of AI and 2️⃣ creating meaningful and sustainable change in health equity. We are grateful for our deep and trusted partnerships with advocacy leaders and can’t wait to make progress together on these challenging topics. 🤝

According to The Washington Post, fewer than one in five eligible people living in America were up to date with lung cancer screenings in 2022. COA’s Time to Screen campaign, a collaboration with CancerCare, highlights the importance of screening early when it is most treatable. https://bit.ly/3LhvM8W #CancerCare #WorldLungCancerDay

When patients understand the risks and benefits of #ClinicalTrial participation, they are able to make more informed decisions about their health and treatment. We created this video to highlight the value of clinical trials for the individual and for the advancement of cancer research. While cancer #ClinicalTrials are responsible for so many important advances in the treatment of #cancer, participating in a clinical trial offers benefits for the individual volunteers. Some of these benefits include: ➢ Being more informed and gaining a better understanding of one’s disease ➢ Gaining access to experimental therapies for those whose cancer is no longer responsive to standard therapies or whose cancer has no or limited treatment options ➢ Having #biomarker testing performed ➢ Being more closely monitored by medical professionals This video is just one of five installments in our Cancer Clinical Trials Series.
