Our team continues to grow! We're delighted to welcome our newest physician, Dr. Zilla Hussain, MD to our Rockville and Urbana, MD offices. Dr. Hussain is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist who specializes in advanced esophageal disorders and motility. She was inspired to become a physician because of a genuine desire to help others, combined with her natural interest in science. “As many physicians do, I see myself as a healer. My goal is to make patients and their loved ones feel better as quickly as possible, and I do not stop until I exhaust all methods and pathways of doing just that.” Dr. Hussain is an author and contributor to leading peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks, and she spent time teaching at a hospital in Rwanda and at Dartmouth University School of Medicine. Join us in welcoming our newest nurse practitioner, Kelly Nelson, CRNP, to our Rockville, MD office. Kelly is a board-certified nurse practitioner who treats all GI conditions. She is passionate about preventive medicine, patient education, and patient-centered care. “My priority as a provider is that my patients feel empowered in their treatment plan and that they have a clear understanding of their condition,” Kelly says. “We, provider and patient, will achieve this through mutual trust, collaboration, and education.” Prior to joining our team, Kelly was an intensive care nurse at a hospital, where she also served as a clinical coach and resource nurse to her colleagues.
