👋Say "Hello!" to our newest member of the Beyond Clean Expert Series™, Beth Perry! Download her first SPD Date Expert Series™ 3-page resource here: https://lnkd.in/gBQHksPp "Thank you to Beyond Clean for selecting me as an SPD Data Expert and allowing me to share some of the things I’ve learned in my 15+ years of working with data. Over that time, I’ve developed a real passion for the information needs of Sterile Processing teams, and I’m excited to begin this journey. Data is a big topic – literally! According to https://lnkd.in/gNWCdx-F, as of December 2023, 328.77 million terabytes of data were being created every day, and that number continues to increase. We are inundated with data, and that makes it easy to feel overwhelmed. That’s why for this series, most of the posts will be focused on building data literacy skills. Googling “data literacy” provides several definitions, but here’s one I particularly like (from Tableau): “the ability to explore, understand, and communicate with data in a meaningful way.” Why is data literacy important? I think most people are aware of the problems with dirty data, so I’ll use that as a comparison. The danger of dirty data is often described as “garbage in, garbage out,” meaning I can’t make good decisions unless I have good data to start from. But I think data literacy is an even more fundamental need. If I am unable to understand the data I have, I could have a veritable gold mine of information right in front of me and not even be able to recognize it, let alone act on it. Over the next year, I aim to provide practical guidance to help Sterile Processing professionals better understand and make use of the data they already have, and maybe even inspire them to measure some new things. Along the way, I’ll also feature a few of the industry insights I’ve identified from my career analyzing Sterile Processing data. I’m excited for you to join me!" - Beth Perry, Engineer, Business Intelligence & Analytics at Censis Technologies, Inc. To sustain change in instrument management, identify core issues, brainstorm solutions with staff input, develop & deploy education and signage, communicate the plan to the team, schedule a go-live date, and audit the process regularly. What a heartbreak (and headache) it is to work so hard to solve a challenge like this, only to see it fall back into chaos a few short weeks or months later. It doesn't have to be that way... To dig into this topic further, you can catch this entire 1 CE approved recorded session hosted by Hank Balch by visiting: https://lnkd.in/g4vAmvir This #ConferenceRewind is brought to you by our "Lost in Space" event, originally aired in March 2024, and sponsored by Censis Technologies, Inc. #LostInSpace #BeyondClean #WeFightDirty #VirtualConference
