The Municipal Child Care Benefit Program is available to City of San Diego employees to help cover the cost of child care for children ages 0-12, based on need. This is the second year of the pilot program! Employees who participated during the first year had this to say:

The City's Public Utilities Department recently welcomed an international delegation to one of its labs. The delegation was visiting the U.S. to learn more about waste management and was given a presentation about the City’s Ocean Monitoring Program. 🌊 The visit was part of U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program and was arranged by the Institute of International Education: https://lnkd.in/gyg7tvfs

As we bid a fond farewell to our Chief Race and Equity Officer, Kim Desmond, we can't help but express our immeasurable pride for her years of dedicated service to the City of San Diego. Her passion and commitment led to the creation of a groundbreaking equity framework. Now, she is set to expand her influence, leading international race and equity initiatives at a global nonprofit organization. We are excited to witness the worldwide changes she will undoubtedly inspire!

Starting at the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department in 1988, Chief Stowell rendered unwavering service to the city for an impressive 34 years. This honor comes as Chief Stowell retires from public service. We invite you to apply to help us engage the community in our efforts to plan the future of our open space and urban trail connections. The Master Plan will guide the provision and enhancement of open space multi-purpose trails that serve pedestrians, hikers, bicyclists, mountain bikers and equestrians, where appropriate, and provide safe and convenient linkages to parks, recreation facilities and open space areas. Applications are due Aug. 4, and virtual office hours will be held on July 23 and 25 to answer questions.
