Disney has announced a slew of future theme park and cruise projects to be developed in the coming years, including a villains-themed land, an "Encanto" ride, an ability to take flight like Iron Man, and a new level of audio-animatronic technology that will bring Walt Disney to life in front of guests. Fans at Disney's biannual #D23 convention had been eagerly anticipating details of these new projects for several years, complaining that previous announcements had teased only vague concepts. But at Saturday night's high-octane presentation at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, 12,000 fans in attendance learned how the company's promised $60 billion investment in parks and cruises will take shape over the next decade. In an interview with CNN, Chairperson of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Josh D'Amaro, said, "What we're doing, I think, more aggressively than we ever have before, is taking advantage of technology, not for technology's sake, but to create magical – almost mind-bending – experiences." The familiar feels good. That was the obvious crowd sentiment at the D23 Disney Entertainment Showcase, where the company previewed its upcoming lineup of film and streaming comfort content. D23, for those unfamiliar with the biennial pilgrimage of Disney fans to Anaheim, California, is part cosplay convention, part promotional pep fest. For the 12,000 people who gathered in a packed arena for an evening of Disney trailers, teases and stars, it was like a pop revival of infectious fun. With sneak-peeks at “Moana 2,” “Avatar 3,” “The Mandolorian & Grogu,” “Mufasa: The Lion King” and (much) more, the event was peppered with confetti, blasts of pyrotechnics, an impressive David Blaine magic trick and the music of Lin Manuel Miranda. It was as if Disney, borrowing a line from Russell Crowe in “Gladiator,” asked, “Are you not entertained?” Hard not to be. Here’s a look at some of the new – and newly updated – titles coming from the wide array of Disney’s studios. ⬇️

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled that the initial inquiry made by the USA over Jordan Chiles’ score in Monday’s gymnastics floor exercise final was filed after the one-minute deadline. That means that Chiles’ score is being reverted to the original 13.666, which was only good enough for fifth place. It’s unclear as of Saturday what that means for the bronze medal that Chiles was awarded.

At the beginning of the year, Yerim Lee landed in Seoul, South Korea, with the intention of spending around a week there with her extended family — and undertaking a serious, fast-tracked regime of beauty treatments. Lee said she got 15 services done in the span of three days during her trip, sharing the list in a TikTok video from her account, @taxinoodle, that now has over 1.2 million views. It’s no secret that Seoul has become a global beauty capital in recent years, known for its focus on skincare and makeup, as well as its famous plastic surgery clinics. But non- or minimally- invasive procedures have also become a popular way to achieve a seemingly-flawless natural look, emphasizing delicate, hyper-feminine features, glowy skin and glossy hair. While the added costs of a plane ticket and hotel stay may not be cheaper than getting a single appointment at home, the savings can rack up over multiple treatments. For some, there’s the benefit of being able to travel while also getting these cheaper treatments done; in the creator economy, there’s also value (think monetized videos) in sharing such journeys on social media. Influencers offer tips on the best treatments to book when you only have a few days in the country or film their “glow-up days,” beating a constant refrain of affordability and innovative technologies. Read on ⬇️
