Rejecting a history that would tell them "No.", Common Future invests in a future where "Yes." is around every corner for Black and Indigenous women and non-binary leaders. By granting them the funding, mentorship, and peer support that they've been historically excluded from, we push closer to the visions and hopes of the communities that these leaders carry. Though we are not ignorant of the tactics of the tactics of those who fight against progress, we will persist. Because this is how we push back. This is how we win.

About us
Common Future makes an equitable economy possible by investing in solutions that advance racial equity. Our current economic system does not work for everyone. Generations of Black and Indigenous communities and other communities of color have intentionally been—and currently are—locked out of wealth and power. Centuries of policies that systematically favor a select few cause persistent economic inequities that hold us all back. We must restore power to communities across lines of difference to model and build a future in which we all thrive. Tax Exempt ID: 20-1544255

It's rare to have the opportunity to amplify recruitment for your own role, but I couldn't be more enthusiastic about supporting Common Future to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer this fall. Five years ago, I co-founded Community Credit Lab (CCL) with Sandhya Nakhasi to support entrepreneurs and individuals facing discrimination in the financial system to access affordable credit. Since then, CCL was acquired by Common Future as CF’s investment entity and is now approaching $10mm in AuM from impact-first investors and funders. After two years at Common Future working with Jennifer Swayne Njuguna, Esq. SHRM-SCP to support multiple acquisition integrations, a transition to Co-CEO leadership, and continued refinement of strategic and operational priorities, it's time for me to begin a new chapter. While my time winds down, the COO role will become available this fall. There are many reasons this is a fantastic job including a remote, 4 day work week, excellent benefits and PTO, a transparent and equitable compensation philosophy, and most importantly mission driven work at a national intermediary enabling initiatives that create and promote racial equity across the United States. However, in my view, the best part of this role is not outlined in the JD as any role is only as good as the people you get to collaborate with everyday. With that in mind, I'd highly encourage anyone qualified and interested to apply primarily due to the people at Common Future and especially those within Operations, the Exec Team, and C-Suite who this role will interface with on a regular basis. I’ll plan to share full thanks and recognition to them before I officially depart, but in the meantime, would encourage applications for the role. Due to the high volume of interest, neither myself nor our hiring team is able to field requests for informational interviews. If you are a good match, I encourage you to apply and our team will reach out to you directly! Job Link: https://lnkd.in/e7PbPDP6
