A great Juneteenth celebration at Verizon in Basking Ridge yesterday hosted by the BOLD and PRISM ERGs, coming together to create hundreds of financial literacy booklets to help educate our youth and continue to break the cycle of youth homelessness.
If you did not get a chance to watch the presentation with Covenant House for the financial workbook assembly you truly missed out on an important and inspiring message. Check out the link below to catch the replay of it and make sure you have your tissues ready! I want to also give a shout out to Disrupt the Cycle Co for creating these books and allowing us to distribute them. This is a black owned business that is working hard to prepare our next generation of youth for success! The link is below for anyone looking to purchase the book or any of the other financial kits created by the business. Again, thank you to everyone who participated and I can’t wait to build on this with even more participation. As always, Stay tuned for more to come! #CitizensVerizon #BOLDerStepsTogether Disrupt the Cycle Co Bryant Singleton, MBA 🌍KRISTEN THORNHILL Adrienne Broom, SHRM-CP, CTT, MBA, PMP 🔥Cora Okine Matthew Noren Mary Lonergan Cindy Leonardo Brooke Jones Sammy Drayton Sopi Mitil Ron Watson Marcus J. What a great day with the Verizon BOLD Global Volunteers - please read this wonderful message from their Volunteer Lead, Jason Ferguson Jr. We are so grateful! Hello, my name is Jason Ferguson Jr and I am Verizon’s BOLD Global Volunteer Lead. What does this really mean? I have been given this unique and amazing opportunity to lead an amazing team of volunteers dedicated to creating real change in this world. But why? What is in it for me? I am a black man, who has had a troubled childhood and struggled tremendously growing up. Somehow, I was able to rise above it all. Being in this position gives me a chance to create real change in someone’s life. To that unhoused child, homeless veteran, or struggling parent, it’s as simple as telling your story or donating. These are the things that affect someone positively for the rest of their life. As this year progresses, I will commit to sharing my journey into true satisfaction through volunteerism with as many people as possible. True change starts with you! It starts by taking BOLDer Steps Together and having boots to the ground working and changing lives one step at a time! On April 4th, I was able to help lead a volunteer effort surrounding Unhoused Youth for the non-profit Covenant House. We took a tour of the facility, spoke to the youth and did a competitive mock interview exercise that really got the blood pumping. This was truly an awe-inspiring event and I look forward to leading more. I would really like to thank all the volunteers and give a special shoutout to all the people that helped coordinate this event. Cindy Leonardo Mary Lonergan Nabijah H.
