A consortium of companies with a mission to help increase the plastic recycling rate from 10% to 90%

About us

Cyclyx International is building a new plastics supply chain for difficult-to-recycle plastics. We are a consortium of companies with a mission to help increase the plastic recycling rate from 10% to 90%. Cyclyx is bridging the gap between waste collectors and recyclers by diverting plastic waste that would otherwise go to landfills or pollute the environment. Cyclyx is helping to expand the range of plastic waste that society recycles to include materials not commonly accepted by traditional recyclers due to contamination levels or the chemical complexity of the waste. Building on a database of post-use plastic chemical characterizations, Cyclyx uses its expertise in managing waste plastics' complicated chemistry to help its customers identify suitable feedstock for their needs. Cyclyx technologies and ingenuity is creating a pathway to recycling that has never existed before. Join the mission!

Today’s an exciting day for the plastic circular economy! ♻️ A final investment decision has been reached for our first Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC) in collaboration with ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell. This unique facility will have the capacity to process hard-to-recycle plastic waste to produce 300 million pounds of plastic feedstock per year. “Cyclyx is proud to be an innovator and enabler for unlocking plastic’s potential,” said Joseph Vaillancourt, CEO of Cyclyx. Since inception, our #10To90 programs in Houston have collected over 500K pounds of plastic waste and diverted from landfill! That material is equivalent to the weight of about three earthbound space shuttle Endeavours. This milestone was made possible through the participation and dedication of the Space City residents. We also want to extend a sincere message of thanks to our sponsors, City of Houston, ExxonMobil, and LyondellBasell. Your continued support of our #BagItAndBringIt programs is appreciated and applauded. As we ramp up preparations for the Cyclyx Circularity Center's mid-2025 opening, this material is being baled and stored. Once the CCC1 is operational, the material will be custom compounded and placed on a recycling pathway.

Thank you Packaging World for highlighting this collaboration! We are proud to work alongside ExxonMobil, Amcor, and Cadbury Australia, a Mondelēz International brand, to help increase the circularity of candy packaging.    Our #CyclyxSolutions create new pathways for landfill-bound plastic material so that it can be recycled. Projects such as these feed our mission of increasing the recyclability of plastic from 10% to 90%. 💡♻️🍫

Can pyrolysis unlock new sources of PCR for packaging? Cadbury Australia, a Mondelēz International brand, thinks so. Working with ExxonMobil, Amcor, and Cyclyx, the confectioner is using 1,000 metric tons of ExxonMobil’s Exxtend chemically recycled BOPP to package its family-sized milk chocolate blocks, with increased use of the material for other products planned in the future. August is National Dog Month! During the dog days of summer, we are bringing a sense of sustainability and circularity to this four-legged extension of our families. According to Protect My Paws, Houston has one of the largest dog populations—with 1.2 million dogs in the city. This means the opportunity to aggregate dog-related plastic waste is great and one we at Cyclyx don’t take lightly. We want to divert as much plastic waste as possible away from landfills and place it on a recycling pathway. Much of the plastic waste associated with pet ownership can be included in our #10to90 all-plastic collection program. We currently have eight drop-off sites, and a ninth one is set to open later this week! Once they are ready to be disposed of, collect your dog’s plastic bowls, tags, and toys, and bring them to a #BagItAndBringIt location to help make a pawsitive difference. Just be sure that this is plastic only! Discover more about our 10to90 drop-off locations here: https://lnkd.in/eVxpVu4c

Thank you to those who attended Asia Society Texas Center's third program of the Energy Transition Series, Advancing the Circular Economy for Plastics, last month. Cyclyx's Vice President of Strategic Relationships, Robert Dishman, was one of the featured speakers alongside Director Mark Wilfalk from the City of Houston, Mario Chavez from ExxonMobil, and Mariane Maximous from LyondellBasell. We are proud to be a post-use plastic innovator developing solutions to unlock plastic recycling’s potential. With our partners and sponsors, we have made positive strides in Houston, and look forward to replicating this model to other cities. If you were unable to attend but are interested in learning how to become a 10to90 City, please email us at info@10to90.com.

Cyclyx’s newest addition, the New Market Development group (NMD), was created to assess the connections between materials, technologies, and end users to help contribute to our 10to90 mission. The talented and passionate team not only connects the dots, but also draws the dots in the first place. ✏️⚫✏️⚫✏️⚫ With its unique skillset, the NMD group identifies mechanical and advanced recycling pathways for materials otherwise bound for landfill. ♻️ NMD focuses on a highly proactive, multi-pronged approach: • Secure and understand unique feedstock sources • Research and build relationships with those utilizing new technologies and processing pathways • Improve plastic waste recyclability • Seek new end users open to developing new product pathways Does the idea of becoming a well-informed, connected dot on the pathway to circularity for plastic waste intrigue you? To learn more about how your business can fit into a developing market here at Cyclyx, email us at info@10to90.com. #CyclyxSolutions

🎉 Great news for Houstonians! In a couple of weeks, we’re opening a new #10to90 drop-off site at the Ellington Airport/Clear Lake Neighborhood Recycling Center. Our ninth location is made possible in part by our sponsors, City of Houston, ExxonMobil, and LyondellBasell. We thank them for their continued support of our 10to90 mission. The plastic waste collected at our #BagItAndBringIt locations, including this one, will be stored until the first-of-its-kind Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC1) is operational in mid-2025. Cyclyx will then process the plastic waste to prepare it for use in a range of new and existing recycling technologies. 📍🗺️ 246 Loop Rd., Houston, TX 77034 ⌚ Open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 📲 Refer to this page for information on the Bag It & Bring It process, accepted vs. not accepted materials, and more: https://lnkd.in/dN-THY2h
