Promoting STEM education for young people is a core focus of the good neighbor commitment we have made to the communities where we live and work. This is why we are honored to have grown our Energizing Tomorrow's Leaders Scholarship program to award 81 individual students across 21 counties this year. In the application students are asked to submit a video answering the question "How does renewable energy affect your future?" “The applications and videos submitted by this year’s Energizing Tomorrow’s Leaders awardees were inspiring,” our CEO, Sarah Slusser, said. “We were impressed by what these students have already accomplished and know that they have bright futures ahead.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e4WXP94Y #renewableenergy #scholarship #community

This is such a thoughtful take from our CEO, Sarah Slusser, reflecting on the recent commissioning of our Zier Solar + Storage site in Texas. The site will provide more than $20 million dollars to the community over the 40-year life of the project while producing enough energy to power more than 40,000 homes annually and, through the battery storage system on the site, is already helping Texas meet high energy demands in the summer heat. So much important legislative work has been done to level the playing field for vital investments in clean energy infrastructure like our Zier site, but we still have a ways to go to break down the barriers to development ensuring a clean energy future that benefits communities everywhere. https://lnkd.in/eh8VfB4m
