This month our Chief Technology and Security Officer Frank is celebrating 20 years with DuPage Credit Union! Get to know a little more about Frank, and his reflections on his time so far with DCU: What’s the most valuable piece of career advice you’ve been given? The most valuable piece of career advice I’ve received came very early on in my 40+ years in the financial area. It was to embrace continuous learning and stay adaptable. Early in my career, one of my managers emphasized that the pace of change in our industry means that staying current with new skills and being open to new opportunities is crucial for long-term success, it was relevant then and holds true even more so in today’s environment. What do you like most about your job? What I like most about my positions at the Credit Union have been the opportunities to tackle diverse and challenging projects. I thrive on finding solutions and working on initiatives that have a tangible impact on our organization, team members and members. I really appreciate the collaborative environment we have here; it’s the combination of engaging, meaningful work and a positive team dynamic that makes me enjoy working here. What’s your favorite place that you have traveled? My favorite place that I’ve traveled to is Sorrento, Italy. The coastal town fascinates me with its narrow, busy streets filled with shops and cafes, the views of the Bay of Naples, and the dramatic cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean. The food is also a highlight, especially the fresh seafood and the limoncello made from local lemons. There is a welcoming atmosphere from the people that live there, I felt a deep sense of relaxation and connection. The trips I’ve made to this area left me with a lasting appreciation for Italy’s charm and I use those memories as a measure against other destinations I visit. For what in your life do you feel most grateful? I feel most grateful for my family. Their support and love have been a constant source of strength and joy in the worst and best times in my life. I enjoy spending time with them and know that they will continue to preserve and pass down family traditions, values, and family stories.

Today is the 25-year work anniversary for our Consumer Lending Manager, Vicki! Check out what she had to say about her experience at DuPage Credit Union, and get to know a little about her: If you could go back in time to your first day at DCU and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be? I remember being nervous about making a change as most might be. If I could go back in time, I would tell myself ‘this is going to be great! There is nothing to worry about’. What do you like most about your job? It’s hard to pick just one but I think it’s the team I work with. They are so passionate about helping members and always go above and beyond! If you could have dinner with anyone (alive or dead), who would it be? Definitely my two daughters. They are strong women and I love spending all the time I can get with them. Tell us about your pet! I have a 15yr old chocolate lab named Bella and 12yr old cat named Smudge. They don’t like each other.

Check out what he had to say about his time with DuPage Credit Union, and get to know a little more about the man himself: What do you like most about your job? That I get to help our members get a place to call home, or use the equity from their home to make it a better place or consolidate debt. Anything else you want to add as you reflect on your 5 years here? The thing I enjoy most about DCU is that we are members helping members and we look at each situation individually. What we do for our members is what I thought banks did for people when I was a kid, consider their history with the bank. We consider the history we have with our members when we are looking at their situation. Even if the members financial situation isn’t exactly where we would like it to be, if it makes sense and puts them in a better position to succeed . . . we can do loans for our members that other financial institutions wouldn’t. What’s your favorite place that you have traveled? The Haiku Stairs in Hawaii What’s your favorite band and song?  Shinedown – Fly From the Inside
